BRAND NEW WOOD LAMINATE FLOORING! The Dolphin Dance cottage is just a short walk - 30 yards or so - to the sparkling white beach of Florida's Gulf Coast. It sits on the beach side of the road, behind the beachfront properties. Minutes from Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas is quiet and remarkably free of the high-traffic, tourist area crowd. Cape San Blas is a peninsula, so there is no 'thru-traffic' to deal with either. If you are looking for a quiet, family atmosphere near the unspoiled beaches of Florida, Cape San Blas is a must for your summer vacation.

ALL BRAND NEW FLOORING! The kitchen has full-size appliances and a dishwasher in the center island. A stackable washer/dryer unit is in the smaller bedroom closet. Cable TV in main bedroom and living room, local telephone and wireless internet also included. Sorry...no boat or trailer parking, but there are marinas nearby.

Contact Preference: CHECK THE CALENDAR FIRST, THEN SEND EMAIL VIA VRBO. Emails go to my cell phone and I can check availability before getting back to you. For last minute inquiries, send email before you call. I get multiple inquiries on multiple properties daily and I am often on the road. An email helps me determine whose inquiry came in first and puts your contact information in my mailbox for future reference. I absolutely cannot and do not confirm a reservation by phone, although I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Keywords: Cottage just off beach on the barrier dunes of Cape San Blas. Just behind the Tradin' Post, less than 100 yards from beach.

Why Jolie Cooper chose North West Florida

We fell in love with the unspoiled beach at Cape San Blas and the quiet, peaceful life on the 'island'. It is close enough for day trips to Apalachicola and Panama City and has plenty of restaurants to choose from in nearby Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach.

What makes this cottage unique

Beach side, Cable TV in two rooms, DVD player, wireless internet, walk to the Trading Post store.

Nearest Beach
40 Metres
Cape San Blas
Car: recommended

Cape San Blas is one of the few remaining 'non-touristy' Florida beaches. Close enough to restaurants, but quiet, family atmosphere on the cape's beaches.

Fantastic value, proximity to beach.

Love the Cape cottages. We park when we arrive and the car doesn't move again until we check out! You are steps from the beach, and steps to the Trading Post. Cool air conditioning, comfortable mattresses, stocked kitchen. What more do you need at the beach?!

All we could want

  • 4 of 5

Just two of us and this cottage was da bomb. Yards from a beautiful beach. Yards from supplies. Quiet at night. The cottafe was comfortable and had all we needed. The only negative was the tv, and we only watched two nights. The service is sketchy, and since we weren't there for tv, was a big shrug.

We particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower, screened porch and wrap around porch. This made managing sand a huge plus....always a beach concern.

A place to sleep after a day at the beach

  • 3 of 5

A little updating and decluttering would help this small space be a bit more welcoming for guests. It's a small space with too many tvs (that don't work), oversized furniture, fake plants, old books and VCR tapes & knick nacks that take up crucial space. Beds could be more comfortable and coverlets freshened up. It seems like everything was done in 2000 and hasn't been updated since. Still, as a girl who grew up camping, it was nice to have a dry air conditioned place to sleep at night. I think that the Cape is fairly expensive in prime season for what you get. VRBO takes a chunk too. The rental company was nice to work with us on dates and check in/check out was painless. It was nice to have laundry available in the bedroom. That said, I've had a much better experience with Airbnb in the past few years and would probably choose Grayton, Destin, Pensacola, or Navarre over the Cape for the money.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I'm not aware of any non-working televisions, so I'll have to check with our more recent guests to see if they've had any issues. In the future, making us aware of any issues would be so helpful, as we are off-site owners and not able to visit the property regularly. We depend on our guests and cleaning staff for input. I'm sorry you weren't happy. We just had all of the flooring replaced and replace our linens at least once every season. I will definitely check on this and see what we can do to update further. We do have a small, quaint cottage, which is why our booking rates are less expensive than most on the Cape.
