Secluded and rustic

  • 5 of 5

Great place! Had a friend reunion celebrating my birthday with some friends from out of town who have never experienced the mountains. The driveway was an experience in and of itself for them! Loved how secluded the place was, and off the grid for that matter. Put your cell phones away! The hike down to the reservoir was beautiful and not bad for a day hike. We enjoyed the bon fire pit and corn hole. Wished the grills would have been working and would have brought board games knowing there weren't many stashed s But the water was hot and clean! Great stay

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying. We apologize about the grill not working and would have addressed it right then had we known. The large newer grill has a safety feature which shuts down the gas flow if it is turned on too fast and needs to be disconnected from propane tank to clear the line. It did not the igniter was somehow not working properly. We realize it is not renter friendly and we will replace it.

Fabulous Seclusion

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly tucked into a private valley of pine trees, this was a great escape from the city. Watching the hummingbirds at the feeder (37 of them one evening) or listening to the hawk call as she flew overhead was a welcome change from traffic, phones and video games. There is no internet or cell service, so be prepared for that withdrawl panic of not being able to check email, but by the end of our visit we were so glad to have unpluged.

The cabin is a work in progress. The main room's lighting was an old bulb strung by extension cord when we were there, but the granite floors in the bathroom, new stainless fridge, dishwasher and gas stove in the kitchen, and luxurious furnature in the main bedrooms show where the cabin is heading. Beautiful work.

The listing mentions cabins, plural. You are renting them both, so you get total privacy. It sounds like a million beds, but really is best suited for a couple or small family on the main floor (second floor) with kids in the loft. Don't forget the marshmallows for a campfire!

Peaceful retreat in the Rocky Mountains

  • 5 of 5

My family had a very enjoyable stay at this rustic cabin located in a beautiful mountain valley of Littleton, Colorado. The cabin was clean with plenty of room, and lots of windows to view the surrounding mountains. We used the gas BBQ for many of our meals. The hummingbird feeders on the deck provided lots of happy flying visitors every day. The beautiful and joyful hummingbirds are seemingly everywhere in the valley. Elk are also frequent visitors on the property. There are several trails for short hikes on the property, and many more mountain hiking and biking trails located in numerous places nearby. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone seeking a safe, peaceful getaway in the mountains, and who appreciates wilderness and some quiet time to relax. The owner, Danny, is super friendly and quick to respond to any questions. I will definitely request to stay at this cabin again the next time I visit Littleton, Colorado.

the best that "rustic" can deliver!

  • 5 of 5

The historic log cabins, the property, the stream, the off road drive to the lake - exceeded our expectations! If you are someone who enjoys an off road experience, and having the feeling of being off the grid, then this is the place. Persnicky travellors who require bellmen and room service need not apply. All others who enjoy quiet, adventure remote, and incredible scenery...you will love this.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

I hesitate to write a review because I don't want the masses to discover this magical place. This is the perfect escape from the city for people who love the outdoors. It is a rustic, low key, off the beaten path kind of place. It is the opposite of five stars accomodation, in a good way. The cabins are sparsely appointed except for the kitchen which offers everything a group needs to cook deelish meals. My one criticism is that the cabins could use a woman's touch in the decorating department. On the other hand the as is condition is part of the charm. This is a great place for a family or a group of friends. It feels like going to your friend's dusty old family cabin. It is a place that has a heart and authenticity. The grounds are spectacular. We will be back again and again and again. Our host Danny was friendly, accommodating and welcoming. We are grateful for his hospitality and for sharing Arising Star Ranch with us!
