Guestbook comments from the owner

Cooked, walked, relaxed, played board games and brought in the New Year.

We love the place but could have used a rolling pin, but I suppose not many people make

their own pizza in a cabing. PS: There is now a rolling pin for pizza.

We had wood burning fires every day to enjoy.

Staying at this log cabin is highly recommended.

All the perks of home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time here! We've been renting VRBO homes for years and this place was amazing! Modern amenities-thumbs up on the kitchen, master bath, comfortable mattress master, full sized washer and dryer. Our only regret was it was a bit too warm outside so we didn't get to use the fireplace or outdoor pit. If you're a birder, bring your binoculars! There are so many types of birds including California quails that hang out literally on the big mound outside the dining room window. And stars! When you come from a large city you don't get to see such beauty. While staying at the house we ventured to 3 National Parks-Kings Canyon, Sequoia, and Yosemite. It was a lot of driving each day but well worth it. One hint, don't go in through the south entrance, hwy 41, to Yosemite best to go in through the Arch entrance, hwy 140. We did the south entrance once and though pretty, many hairpin turns! In nearby Mariposa, there's a cute pie shop called Jantz Bakery that you should check out.

My dream home is now a log cabin!

  • 5 of 5

When you travel 6h by plane to come see California for the 1st time... everything matters! And after renting 6 places along route 1 until LA and back to SF through forests and parks, I have enough info to be able to compare them all.

We rented this place knowing it is going to be 1h drive to Yosemite (mid entrance) but it looked gorgeous in the pictures and we simply had to experience a log cabin!

What a great find! I am so thrilled with my choice!

This rental is not only charming but spotless and spacious. Very roomy: the perfect size for our family to feel home, but could have easily accommodated another family sleeping in the office & living. The attention to details has far surpassed our expectations: very clean… nicely decorated.

Not only is the house gorgeous and has a great layout but these are people who truly care about their home, as well as the people staying in it.

Thank you!

If Cali was a great experience for us, it is also because of you.

Beautiful home, inside and out, quiet, clean, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful, quiet, secluded log home near Mariposa has everything you could possibly need. I don't think there is anything that the owners haven't thought of to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The beds were new and comfortable and the Wifi worked well, which was nice since we had no cell service in the area. You will feel at home the moment you step through the door. Spend some time outside enjoying the deck and well landscaped surroundings. There is a flock of California quail that wanders through the property. Look outside the dining room window to watch a colony of California ground squirrels. They are shy and will disappear down their holes when you go outside. Nearby Oakhurst is bustling during the summer. They have two large grocery supermarkets across from each other, and several restaurants. The property owners have thoughtfully accumulated a collection of restaurant flyers for when you don't want to cook. They also have a drawer in the kitchen with the instructions for all their appliances, which you might need to read to operate their fancy coffee machine. We stayed here while we explored Yosemite. It is about a 90 minute drive to Yosemite Valley if you leave early in the morning, but it is worth it to have such a wonderful place to come home to. If this place is available, book it before someone else gets it. You won't regret it.

Great place! All amenities were in the place, everything worked great!

  • 5 of 5

We were scheduled to be there for 5 days, but had to evacuate early due to wildfires! So our stay was much shorter than expected, but Bob took care of us. Enjoyed the nature around the place and wished we had time to enjoy it longer! Would highly recommend Bob's place!
