Or by visiting the market in Saint-Astier? Or start the new Crime on the lounger by the pool?

When setting up the individual living areas and rooms we attached great importance to quality: from the furniture to the wall color to the pillow case - every little detail is chosen with love and care.

The interior is a declaration of love to the savoir vivre of the Dordogne. The heart of the home is the kitchen. The old oak flooring gives the room a very special aura. Amenities include a gas stove and oven of Rosieres, much quieter refrigerator from Smeg and a Norwegian Jotul stove. The food here is prepared delicacies can be enjoyed at the big table in the kitchen, found at the convenient 10 people place or on the terrace giving under a shade mulberry overlooking the large lawn at the swimming pool.

On cooler evenings, the lounge invite to come back conversations. And from the comfortable sofas you look at the large open fireplace. The blazing flames ensures here for maximum comfort and a particularly pleasant atmosphere.

A special highlight is the tower bedroom. In combination with the green painted wooden bed and floral patterned curtains a delightfully relaxed atmosphere. It has two windows - east and west. Anyone who embeds here will feel the charm of Manoir de Moncé particularly intense. Because the property has not only a fascinating history, but is also in harmony with nature.

A wonderful retreat, not only for sleeping.

From the terrace a staircase to the private entrance leads. The blue painted kitchen, the nostalgic wallpaper and the petrol-colored fabrics give the Centre its lightness.

Heavenly French rural Idyll

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived and saw the house we knew that we were in for a treat. So much house to discover and each and every room was impeccably and tastefully decorated. The pool was a huge hit with the children and they spent most of the week playing in the water with the giant inflatables. The location was secluded and incredibly peaceful which won't suit all, but was exactly what we were hoping for - a chance to get away from our frenetic every day lives. Even our 17 year old town dweller was happy to chill out by the pool with a cool beer and listen to music and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The kitchen was incredibly well equipped for cooking/entertaining and each and every dish and glass was what I would have liked in my own home. We ate outside for practically every meal, breakfast included, around a large wooden table with benches hand decorated with birds and flowers positioned underneath a shade giving tree.

The friendly housekeeper was on hand upon our arrival to show us around and explain everything to us. She was only a phone call away should we have any issues or need help in any way.

We did visit some local markets which were lovely but to be honest, we came here just to escape and to stop and it fulfilled our requirements perfectly.

I would love to return to this property again and dream most days about living here. Enough said.

Magnifique endroit au milieu de la verdure

  • 4 of 5

Alexandra

D'un autre temps

  • 5 of 5

The Dordogne in southwest France was formerly part of the Roman province Aquitaninen. Today the department of Dordogne is in 18th Century mainly emerged from the former province of Périgord. One speaks of black, green, white and purple Perigord. Black represents the truffle, green for the evergreen oak forests, white for the limestone cliffs and purple for viticulture. The Perigord is known for its picturesque landscapes, rolling hills and its many medieval castles. The climate is very mild, the summers are long. In the Dordogne, the culture is not neglected: Thrilling include the prehistoric Lascaux caves with their cave paintings or the many medieval castles, such as Castelnaud. The wine cellar of Bordeaux and the historic towns of Périgueux, Saint Emilion, Bergerac, Brantome, Aubeterre, Cognac and Sarlat are within easy reach by car from Moncé. The provincial capital Périgeux is about 20 minutes away by car. Bordeaux and the long sandy beaches of the Atlantic are on offer for a day trip.

Moncé belongs to the small town of Saint Aquilin and is located in the Perigord blanc. The origins of today's country estate go up to the 14th Century. 1715 Manoir MONCE was classified as Château. It is surrounded by picturesque hills, lush sunflower fields and romantic rivers. The next town is Saint-Astier, about 8 minutes. Here and in the immediate vicinity can be experienced every day one of the idyllic street markets and shopping traditional local specialties. In the neighboring towns of Moncé bakers a / boulangeries vying for the best baguette, delicious pain au chocolat and croissants crunchiest. Flea market lovers can get hold of rarities in the surrounding villages every weekend. They are called here Vide-grenier, brocantes or Marchés aux Puces. One of the most beautiful Brocantes is in Verteillac. The close Dronne you can explore by canoe or kayak. Golf courses in the near vicinity. And hikers and cyclists in the wonderful scenery around Moncé their money.
