About Joanne

We have maintained this property for myself and my family for over 30 years. I have been thrilled to renovate and update the beach rental unit for my tenants. I hope you'll come and enjoy it soon.

There is lots to do here in this neighborhood and the rest of Los Angeles from the Freeways. If you have skates or skateboards bring them (world class skate park). At the house we have boogie boards, bikes, balls and one beginner surf board.

REMEMBER YOUR CAMERA THERE ARE A LOT OF INTERESTING PICTURES TO TAKE HERE, and our place is located perfectly for all that is North, South , East and West. SantaMonica on the North, Marina and the Canals, skate park South, West the ocean, boardwalk, bike path, East Main street,Abbot Kinney, public golf course, Freeways. Restaurants in all directions 6 within 2 blocks. Whole Foods and Ralphs close by. Perfect for a romantic get away or for a small family. Kids have a great time here, we love kids we had 3 ourselves,

now on their own.

'----come and be our guest-

Joanne purchased this house in 1967

Why Joanne chose Venice

The house is a pretty Calif. bungalow built in 1905's and has been remodeled to keep the charm of the turn of the century. It's like walking into the past with the convienence of the 21 century. The location is ideal; walking distance to all that is

offered on Santa Monica's/Venice beach area N. (including the Recreation Pier + still walking distance to Venice's rec.beach S.area yet far enough away from Venice rec park to be a quieter neighborhood. There are buses with in a block and we furnish bikes. We are situated near so many great restaurants. We furnish a lot of extras to our guests in the way of athletic equip. toys and games. I knew this would also be an ideal location for people on vacation. The weather is always good, not too hot and rarely cold (for me cold is under 72 degrees,) One guest, a professor suggested a walk in the morning and at sundown because the negative ions that come off the ocean are very healthy for us.

What makes this house unique

This turn of the century house has high10' celings and built in cabinets. The large moldings was just one of the reasons; I wanted to be close enough to walk home from the beach for lunch or nap time when the kids where small. The weather is the best (about 75 degrees most of the year warmer May-thru Aug). However it has been in the 90's this October. There isn't the bugs problem the tropics have. Cultural and artistic developement are everywhere. I love walking to the corner and having the beach there and still having access to a big city and culture with all that is offered here in LA. I really enjoy having the ocean breeze coming in and the sun shining. I love skating at sunset, and biking up and down the coast. One can have their whole experience without a car. Abbot Kinney has unique shops that are not chains stores with the some old stuff., New train by the Santa Monica peir to take you downtown L.A. for the Cathedral, Disney Music Hall, Alavera Street, and musceums.

For the athlete we have bikes, boogie boards, skim and surf board, balls(basket, volly, foot, tennis, paddle tennis, socker(all equip for your use here and on the beach). You can parasail over the ocean. You can even go on line and reserve surf lessons or paddle boarding.

Cozy, safe and close to the action

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Venice was memory-making thanks to Joanne! The property is lovely - well kept, clean and inviting. A great queen bed for us parents at one end of the space and a unique room at the other end for our 2 teenagers. The kid's room had built in double beds and cabinets, as well as lots of storage space, games and books to entertain them. The garden space beckoned for us to sit and relax or enjoy a meal. We used the bikes that were provided to ride up to Santa Monica Pier and down to the Venice Canals along the beach boardwalk (much better than moving our car from the provided parking spot). The beach, playgrounds, skate board park and other attractions are a short walk away. Many restaurants and shops are walking distance from the property too, including the hip Albert Kinney area. We'll definitly stay here next time we visit LA.

Excellent vacation rental!

  • 5 of 5

I loved my stay at this rental! Joanne was very welcoming and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable than I could’ve hoped. I was able to walk to the beach in only a few minutes and did not have to cross any street to do so, I loved being so close to the water. The 3rd street promenade is only 10 min away, I was able to do some birthday shopping and meandering about; enjoying all the nice shops and many talented characters that place has to offer. I walked down the boardwalk to the Venice Pier and then to the Santa Monica Pier. Another time I took the bike, which Joanne provided me with, passed both piers and was able to see much more of the beach and passed by the Venice skatepark, which was AWESOME! I never went surfing while I was there but having the board if I did want to was nice as well. There was plenty to do while on my trip to Venice but what really made the whole trip worth while was having such a wonderful rental home to come back to. It really was a home away from home.

Perfect to visit Venice Beach and Santa Monica

  • 5 of 5

I loved my stay at Joanne's home. The bikes are useful to visit Venice and Santa Monica. The appartment is well equiped and there is even some toys for the kids in the bedroom. The AC works well and that's a good thing because you can close the windows when you sleep, the street outside is noisy. There was some beers and water in the fridge when we arrived, it was very appreciated. We were able to park our Chevy Tahoe in the parking space.

I have nothing wrong to say about the house, it was just perfect for our needs and the owner Joanne was very nice with us!

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

We r from WI, a week in sunny CA was amazing!!! There were 6 of us in Joanne's home. She offered us all of the amenities you need for a perfect Venice beach vacation. The bikes, boogy boards, wagon, umbella. Saved us a ton of cash. We could bike to Santa Monica Pier. She was very helpful in finding things to do and where to get food. She even took us to Cosco for groceries to feed all of us. We were close enough for a day in Beverly hills, and a day at Universal. GREAT VACATION, THANK YOU JOANNE.
