Enjoy the tranquility of the Wisconsin River at rustic Jacks Cabin. Just 100 feet from the back deck flows the river, where you can fish, swim, canoe or kayak, run in the sand or watch large numbers of wildlife. There are deer, turkey, fox, eagles (and many more bird species) to be seen. Smallmouth bass, walleye and pike can be caught in the river by you and your family. The cabin is just 20 minutes from famous Wisconsin Dells or Baraboo. The Aldo Leopold Historical Site is just down the road, and Madison is a short 40 minutes away. Sit on the deck and watch the river flow by.

About John Love
This property was purchased by my grandfather, John V. (Jack) Cairns in 1944. I spent weekends and summers there from the time I was five until I enlisted in 1968. I lived there for two years from 1973 to 1975. My grandfather willed this property to his daughter, my mother, who willed it to her four children. The only one with any personal interest in keeping the Cabin was me, so eventually I bought them out. I maintain it as a rental to pay the bills and keep it up.. John Love

Amazing!! My family and I had an awesome time staying at Jack's cabin it was exactly what we wanted!
First off the pictures dont do it justice, we were amazed by the amount of space there was . Martha was awesome on our first day greeting my family. There were so many amenities provided .we will for sure be staying there next year.
More than amazing
Best little hideaway you can ask for. Nothing but peace and quite.
Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to hear from you next year.
Close to Water!
We loved the little cabin and the kitchen was nicely stocked. Perfect for kayaking! The dogs loved it too!
Awesome view, dog friendly, crazy mosquitos!
We had a great time at Jack’s cabin! The cabin offers amazing views, excellent access to the water, it’s super dog friendly, and a convenient distance from Wisconsin dells! The only complaints we have would be in regard to the ridiculous mosquitos! We slathered on bug spray and lined the deck with citronella candles and still managed to get bit up!
Also the beds weren’t incredibly comfortable but for the price and location they were about what we expected.
Great place to stay, bring your pups... but also bug gear!
Thanks for the great review. Those mosquitoes ARE out of control. I can only assume they are that bad anywhere along the River. We are looking for new mattresses for the hide-a-beds. They are terrible.
Great little cabin!
We had a great time at Jack's Cabin. The owner was very responsive to my questions. The property manager was helpful and accommodating. The cabin had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It is beautiful property and close to any other outdoor activity you would want to do. I highly recommend staying here.
Thanks for the great review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to hear from you again next year.
Perfect Little Cabin
Nice cabin included everything we needed - we had four adults, two children and a dog and everyone was comfortable. The kids just loved the river location, even spent some time swimming and enjoying the little beach area.
The cabin is close to Wisconsin Dells and Baraboo; one day all the 'youngsters' went to Noah's Ark and we went to Circus World Museum, both just a short drive from the cabin. We made some great memories!
(For outside memories, I'd recommend good mosquito spray...)
The cabin is located on the Wisconsin River near Wisconsin Dells, Baraboo, Aldo Leopold home, International Crane Center and Circus World Museum.
