Here you can watch deer, buzzards, foxes or, with a bit of luck, the rare kingfisher and black stork.
Extensive hiking trails, horse trails and bike paths invite you. The Kölner Weg, one of the oldest hiking trails, is in front of the door. Also in the immediate vicinity of premium hiking trails such as the Westerwaldsteig, Sieghöhenweg and Siegsteig are waiting to be discovered by you.
Whether hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, kayaking, fishing - the activities in the open, completely unloaded air are no limits.
Our petting zoo, playground and many playground equipment will not leave boredom for children of all ages.
In the region you will find many attractions and sights in the area of culture, history, geology and nature.
The former mill consists of two buildings, the old miller's house, and an extension that we inhabit ourselves.
The house is located in the historic part of the property, the Miller House. Both houses are completely separate voneinerander and have separate entrances.
The house was renovated in 2015 and is lovingly, child-friendly and mostly furnished in rural style.
You live in a cozy half-timbered house in the middle of nature (landscape conservation area & nature park), directly on a natural brook.
The house has two floors. The ground floor has approx. 120m², the upper floor is approx. 60m².
On the ground floor there is a large kitchen and a spacious bathroom (bath + shower), a spacious and family-friendly designed living-dining area (with large dining table, couch, sofa bed, bench) and two bedrooms. In total, 5-7 people can stay here. In addition, there is a cot in one of the bedrooms. If required, we will provide you with additional cots and high chairs.
Upstairs there is a fully equipped kitchen with a large sofa bed (up to 3 persons) and a daybed (2 persons), two bedrooms (one loft bed and one double bed) and a modern bathroom with shower. Here, a total of up to 9 people can stay. Each floor is suitable for children and has u. a. via a changing table with changing mat, children's stool and children's toilet attachment.
If you are interested you are welcome to use our internet access (WLAN) at any time. Each floor has a large full-HD flat-screen TV, hi-fi system and DVD player.
Both eat-in kitchens are fully equipped. All cooking utensils are provided. Dishwasher, ceramic hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machines, large refrigerators with freezer are understood by us.
The house also has a modern, quiet washing machine with dryer function and many special programs.
Outside, you can relax, have a barbecue or walk in our large garden, while your kids can let off steam in the playground or our kids' fleet, feed animals, go for a walk with goats, splash in the creek or swim in our large pool. For your barbecues is ready a comfortable grill with smoker function.
The origins of the mill will be around 1700's. The foundation walls or Foundations of the entire property date from this time. It was a grand spell mill, one of the major mills in the region.
The operation lasted until the beginning of the last century.
The property is often used as a photo opportunity of the world-famous and one of the most important photographers of the 20th Century, August Sander, who spent many years of his life in the neighboring village. The photo of our mill can be seen again and again at national and international exhibitions.
The property went through many changes over the years. Mill, inn, tavern with bowling alley, Farm and ultimately private use as a residence.

Our house is located between the cities of Cologne, Bonn, Limburg, Hachenburg, Dillenburg, Siegen, Königswinter, Neuwied and Koblenz and therefore also serves as a starting point for sightseeing. The cities mentioned can be reached by car in about 40-55 minutes or by train from the train station 6km away.
