Amazing getaway in the mountains
Had an absolutely wonderful experience at Jessie’s Cabin. A very nice, secluded property up in the mountains. It was perfect for relaxing, entertaining, and using as a launch point for numerous hikes and explorations. The cabin had everything you could ask for. I hope to be back again soon!
Feels like home... Even better!
Such a beautiful and cozy place in the winter. Would love to see this place in the summer!
Thank you, Tara. It is very beautiful in the summer and we would love for you to come back
Lovely little cabin
Peaceful and quiet. We loved it
And we loved having you. We would love for you to return!
There are two stairways up to the second floor sleeping areas. Both of theses a very steep and narrow and more like a ladder then a stair case. It is very difficult for older people to get up and down them. There was a very offensive odor in the house that remained during our entire stay.
We work lovingly to make our log cabin a fairy-tale cottage in the woods. So many of our guests are delighted by its charm and warmth, woodsy decor, and comfort. We continually invest in it to increase its charm and comfort every year.
We adore this cabin. Our family treasures it as a place where love comes together and we are pleased to share it with others.
About odor: The writer has taken me by surprise. The odor she mentions is an anomaly. This is not anyone else’s experience with the cabin. It must have been a temporary occasion because others have not reported it. My husband and I come to stay 3 or 4 times per year and the comment does not reflect our experience at all. But just in case, I have had a septic specialist examine our system and we are assured everything if operating just fine.
Our mountain cabin was built with real logs and chinking with an imposing stone fireplace. The staircases to the upstairs are part of the original cabin. I agree that they might not be suitable for the elderly and I will make that explicit in our description, but they are exactly the way the cabin was built which makes us very happy. You can see in our pictures, they are fully functioning steps.
We are not interested In turning this adorable cabin into a standard, bland motel. It is special, and only people who want the cabin experience should choose to rent it.
Beautiful mountain cabin near Estes Park
Aspen Mountain Cabin was our choice for our vacation to Estes Park and what a great choice it was! The cabin was beautifully decorated, comfortable and located approximately 20 minutes from Estes Park.
We cooked most of our meals for the week in the well-stocked kitchen. We even saw elk in the back yard upon our arrival.
This was our first experience finding lodging on VRBO and it couldn’t have been smoother. Communications with Jessie, the owner, were very clear with good instructions posted around the house.
I highly recommend Aspen Mountain Cabin and would stay there again!!
PS. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom with master bathroom and it is gorgeous!!

So glad you saw elk on our property during your stay. That’s such fun! We often see wildlife while staying there too! — deer, wild turkeys, moose. Also feels really good that you liked our luxurious bathroom!
I’m hoping you’ll come back and stay again.
Aspen Mountain Cabin is just outside the little village of Allenspark Colorado which sits at the national park's southeast corner, along the breathtaking Peak-to-Peak Highway. The highway itself is 55 miles of curves and scenery rivaling the postcards from Estes Park, 12 miles to the North. Established in 1918, this scenic town shows the way to some of Colorado's most famous and beautiful areas. Chief among these is the craggy, 14,255-foot Longs Peak, as well as Rocky Mountain National Park, host to alpine vistas, glacial basins and 3 million visitors annually. In addition to visiting Rocky Mountain National Park, visitors enjoy horseback riding at many nearby stables. Fishing during summer months and cross-country skiing in the winter makes the town an attractive year-round destination.
While peak tourist season occurs during the summer months, this town's hiking trails, located at an altitude of 8,521 feet, provide wonderful views of the changing aspen trees in autumn.
Other Activities: Horseback riding is popular in the area. There are many livery stables nearby -- one within 1 mile of the cabin
In nearby Estes Park, you can find white water rafting tours and mountain climbing guides.
Nearest Lakes: Lily Lake is a stunning alpine lake under the watchful gaze of Longs Peak and Mount Meeker. What makes Lily Lake a great family destination is that it’s right along the highway, so it’s easily accessible for people of all ages. The lake has sturdy picnic tables on the east shore. We had a family reunion several years ago and enjoyed a picnic there while watching the sun set behind the mountains. Instead of stopping at the tables, we struck out along the trail around the lake, which is only 0.8 miles long and handicap accessible. It is level and lined with logs, so it’s perfect for a wheelchair or a leisurely stroll. We walked past anglers fishing for the cutthroat trout. Other lakes: Marys Lake (trout fishing), Brainard Lake (fishing), Copeland Lake, Bear Lake.
The Webster cabin is a perfect base for numerous hikes of all levels of difficulty.
Twin Sisters: At the top, you can see the great majority of the RMNP peaks, as well as Moraine Park and many other areas in the Estes Park valley.
Other trails near the cabin: Little Mountain, Middle St Vrain (includes Timberlake Falls), Rock Creek (just a quarter mile from the cabin door), Long Lake, Isabelle Lake and Pawnee Pass, Brainard Lake to Blue Lake, Loch Vale (one of the best hikes in RMNP and offers something for everyone), Ridge between St Vrain and Meadow Mountain. Wild Basin (an excellent hike for small children–and only a few minutes away), Finch Lake (also known as the Allenspark Trail -- have wonderful views across Wild Basin to Meeker, Long’s, and many Continental Divide peaks toward the west), Sandbeach Lake Trail (the reward is rich: a unique and beautiful lake with a llarge sandy beach and wonderful mountain views. And the trailhead is only 10 minutes away from the cabin.) Chasm Lake (certainly one of the very best trails), hike to Fern Lake.
Ski: Eldora Mountain Resort offers skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and is snowshoe friendly! It is 32 miles from the Aspen Mountain Cabin. Here is some information about the Ski Resort:
Eldora opened for skiing in 1962.
Eldora receives 300 inches of snow per year qand boasts Colorado's best snow making system. Coverage is 100% of groomed terrain, more than any other resort in Colorado!
The base area of Eldora has an elevation of 9,200 feet above sea level. Top elevation is 10,800 feet.
The most difficult mountain to ski at Eldora is the Corona Bowl - a double black diamond!
Eldora is only 21 miles from Boulder and 47 miles from Denver.
It has 680 acres of skiable terrain and its longest run is 3 miles long!
About jessie webster
Jessie Lois Webster is the mother of two grown boys and four grandchildren. Thanks to the Air Force, much of her family’s growing up years was spent in Colorado – skiing, snowboarding, 4-wheel driving, water rafting, hiking, camping, exploring -- celebrating the best of amazing Colorado. Her boys and their families never left the area. Jessie’s graduate education from the University of Colorado, Boulder, led to a career in Corporate Training and Development which in turn, led to worldwide assignments with Hewlett Packard and Motorola. Even though her last position, CEO of a software company specializing in tools for human resource development, brought her to reside in Chicago, the family regularly gathers for bonding time where their heart is -- Colorado. In 2005 they decided to re-establish a home base in Allenspark. They fell in love with this adorable vintage 1950’s log cabin in the middle of everything they enjoy of the Rockies. The family of ten absolutely loves this cozy, romantic, and spacious cabin and, because of that, believes that everyone will. They are thrilled to share the mountain experience with others, hoping that all will enjoy laughter and love there and build indelible joyful lifelong memories.
