Apartment in seaside family house
This apartment is the first floor of a family house with family members living above and below. It is called Apartment Tony (or Toni) but as there are others with similar names locally, this one is at the end of a cul-de-sac at Ulica Ivana Mazuranica in the hillside village of Mastrinka on the northern coast of Ciovo island by Trogir. It is only about a 10 minute drive from Split Airport over the new bridge from the mainland east of Trogir; the final approach is by narrow lanes just off the coast road. You enter the apartment from a landing into a hallway with the bathroom on your left, bedroom on the right and lounge/kitchen/diner straight ahead. There are also balconies front and back, both big enough to sit out on, and the use of a further side terrace off the landing, which has reclining chairs and other equipment not pictured as well as the table and chairs shown. The front, north facing, balcony and terrace have views of the sea and the rear south facing balcony looks up the hill at neighbouring homes. The kitchen is quite well equipped and we take it the extra sleeping places are on what we assume to be a sofabed in the lounge; there are also bunk beds behind a curtain in the kitchen but the apartment is only advertised as sleeping 4. The TV (no DVD player) has a basic selection of Croatian channels but as English language programmes are subtitled rather than dubbed, you can still watch them. The family are very friendly and their adult daughter speaks good English. There is a good Tommy supermarket 5 minutes' walk away. We had a hire car but you could also get here by bus and the nearby village of Slatine (on the island bus route) has a regular passenger ferry to Split run by Bura Line. We had an enjoyable fortnight visiting Dubrovnik, Zadar, Etnoland, the Krk national park and other places. We recommend this apartment.
