A good home base in Berlin

Our recent 6-night stay was excellent. Everything was as promised in the on-line description and reviews. The apartment was extremely comfortable, functional and worked well for 2 couples.

Despite hot days (+26 C) the apartment remained cool and breezy without air conditioning. Great for sleeping at night. The neighborhood (Moabit) is not sexy but felt safe, quiet and with good grocery stores nearby. The nearest U-Bahn (subway) stop is about a 15 minute walk and is best for getting you into the larger system as a whole. There are buses which can be caught near the apartment that also accomplish the same thing. Takes a little bit to get familiar with the transit system but well worth it. We rented bicycles for the last couple of days and in hindsight should have done it right at the start - maybe even included a bike tour to get the lay of the land. Berlin is a fantastic city for cycling with bike paths/lanes nearly everywhere and exceptionally considerate car drivers. You can see so much of the city on a bike and quickly develop a sense of where everything is located relative to everything else - much harder to do when you pop up somewhere from the U-Bahn!

Great stay!

We spent 4 days in Berlin and this apartment was perfect to go home to after a long day of sight seeing. It's quiet and spacious but close enough to walk where we wanted to go. I'd definitely stay again.

This is a beautiful apartment in a quiet residential area of Berlin, convenient to the train station

We enjoyed our stay in this spacious and well appointed apartment. It’s close to the central train station, making it easy to use public transportation. The area is primarily residential, so there are fewer restaurants and shops than in other parts of the city, but it’s also not touristy at all, which appealed to us. We enjoyed watching the New Year’s Eve fireworks in the neighborhood from our balcony! We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back to this lovely apartment. Thank you!

Moabit Flat

The apartment manager was very nice and greeted us upon our arrival. Hhe explained everything very thoroughly including transportation options. The gift of the bottle of wine was a nice touch as well. The flat itself was beautiful and nicely decorated and perfect for the three of us. We had only a few minor concerns. One was the raised wooden plank between the hallway and the living room. It is raised about 1-2 inches above the floors on either side and is difficult to see. We tripped over it several times and finally placed a small table from the hallway there to remind us it was there. This could very dangerous. This is minor but the couch blanket slips off easily when you sit on it. Access to the central part of Berlin was very easy using the bus system.

Beautiful and comfortable apartment

This is a wonderful apartment that is beautifully presented and well supplied with everything you need. The area is safe and quiet at night, and the beds were comfortable. The owner was very friendly, and the office manager speaks enough English to do the check-in process and answered all our questions. We appreciated that there was coffee, sugar, and cream stocked for us, as well as a bottle of wine! The only con for this place is that it is not close to a convenient metro station. The station that is about 10-12 minutes walk requires changing lines for all the main sites in Berlin. By the end of our week we used the buses quite a bit more than the u-Bahn. The apartment is close to the main train station in Berlin which is useful for travel.
