What makes this cabin unique

We all fish (even my wife sometimes), but just hanging out at the cabin is an enjoyable place to relax. Walking around the area you will see the resident deer. The kids feel a sense of freedom while playing and discovering...we love this place....

Perfect cabin on the Trinity!

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect for our annual fishing trip to the Trinity. The house was stocked with everything we needed, and even had some misc supplies we didn’t expect (spices, oils, coffee filters). Both bedrooms were comfortable and the common and eating area was very well setup and laid out. One bonus we didn’t realize is how quiet this location would be. Previously we stayed closer to the highway and could hear traffic noise all day long. All we heard here was the pleasant sound of the river all day and night.

Henrik, the owner, was very communicative during the booking process and gave us a great description of what to expect with regards to the fishing. We will definitely be booking here for our annual January trip. Thanks Henrik!

A Great place to relax and recharge

  • 4 of 5

Wife and I really enjoyed our 6 days st this place. It was a very quiet and relaxing cabin right on theTrinity River. Caught a few trout, saw deer everywhere, even a couple of beaver..

If you want luxury this is not the place, but if you want a cozy, comfortable cabin in a quiet rural area, you won't go wrong here.

Weaverville is only about 25 mins away where they have a grocery store, fishing and outdoor goods supply store, small shops and restaurants.

You can also rent boats in the Trinity Lake nearby, the bass, crappie, and trout fishing is good there 👍? All in all we really enjoyed our time there.

Fish Tale Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this cabin every summer for four years now. We always return for a week with the grandkids because of the beautiful location and accommodations. We appreciate the owner's attention to maintaining the property as well. It's a great getaway from the hustle bustle of the city to the country, great outdoors, beautiful weather, and starlit skies with lots to do and see nearby. Cindy & Gordy

Fish - Eat - Nap - Repeat

  • 5 of 5

This is a rustic cabin in a quiet neighborhood with one of the best fishing spots on the Trinity in walking/floating distance (Bucktail Hole). This was our second time staying at the cabin, and we escaped the 100 degree heat in the middle of the day by napping on the couch. Our dog chased lizards around the dog run and we saw rainbows from the deck after an afternoon storm blew through.

It's a rural area on a municipal water supply, which means you should look at the sign as you turn onto the cabin road to see if you need to boil or filter the tap water (or just bring your own) but that's pretty standard for California river towns. It's a great getaway to nature spot, with a cozy cabin to escape from nature when it's time for coffee and a hot shower.

Ladies Beware!

  • 1 of 5

Great location, awesome deck, but the cabin, including the bedding and linen, reeked! Not sure what the stench was--possibly cigarette smoke over a long period of time?? The dishwasher was disgusting and the décor consisted of mismatched knick-knacks that you might find at a Goodwill store. Pictures were stuck in odd places and didn't fit the wall space. In the queen bedroom, the comforter was actually 2 twin comforters that were laid sideways (strange!). No matter 'cuz they smelled so bad I had to remove them from the bed and dug in the closet to find something that wasn't so offensive. Not kidding! Cobwebs too! The owners need to gut the place and get a professional decorator or someone with a better sense of decorating. It's sad 'cuz the place has lot's of potential. If you're a couple of guys going fishing--it might be ok, but ladies beware!

Quiet cozy cabin with gorgeous views

  • 5 of 5

Our family stopped over here for a break while driving long distance.

We enjoyed the soothing sound of river in the background, spotted several deer between the properties and said hello to a friendly neighbor. The boys loved playing darts, a first time for them, in the backyard.

From the cabin it was a short drive to Lewiston reservoir where we enjoyed floating around for a whole afternoon. The water was a bit too cold for swimming, but with temperatures in the upper eighties the splashing around was a good to stay cool.

We topped the day off with a pleasant dinner in the Mountain Valley grill on the way back to the cabin.
