Charming studio cottage in the woods, walking distance to the center of Woodstock. Light-filled cottage is privately set up a tree-lined drive with a stone pathway leading to the front door. Cook in your own kitchen or use the charcoal grill outdoors and dine in privacy on the stone terrace.
Cottage was built by a Woodstock artist 75 years ago, and has been thoughtfully renovated by a local architect.
This is the perfect retreat setting for a writer, musician, artist, or other creative type who is looking for privacy, yet not total seclusion.
Sleeps 1 to 2 people, or a couple or single parent with a child. Cottage has sleeping loft and a comfortable sofa-bed.
The cottage was the perfect rental for a cozy weekend in Woodstock. We fell in love with the town and spent our days exploring and hiking and being outside. Jennifer was the most amazing host. She left a book filled with things to see and do, restaurants to try, hikes, day trips to make, health and spa services, and even left her own tips and advice! The cottage was exactly as described and absolutely comfortable. We loved the loft bed and the cozy kitchenette. The location was also perfect — just minutes from everything. We really can't wait to return!
The space was perfect for me and my 4 year old daughter. The cottage had everything we needed and modern, clean, and simple. Because I was with a child, we slept on the very comfy foldout couch instead of in the loft space. Kitchen is well equipped and there is a great DVD collection, that I wasn't able to take advantage of, but was a nice perk. It is close to town as others said, about .7 or .8 miles away. I was easily able to push my daughter in her stroller there. Definitely recommend.
Everything in the first place is so attractive. Then, it's functional, and so your stay is comfortable, private, and convenient if you need to get to town. Perfect in every way.
We loved our stay at this cottage! It is an easy walk to Tinker St. on Woodstock, but you feel like you're in the woods and very secluded. We saw deer and chipmunks each morning. Nice to have the option of the loft bed or sofa bed, clean linens + towels, shampoo + body wash is provided. We loved that you could hook your phone up to the speaker for music too. Pick up some wine from in town, sit on the patio at night and watch the stars - we really enjoyed the mini patio, perfect for two to unwind after dinner out. It's also an easy drive up to Overlook Mountain for the hike. We would definitely stay here again, thank you for sharing your property with us!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 lovely days. The cottage was even cuter in person than in the pictures. We loved the little loft style sleep area. It was cozy and comfortable. We just so happened to be up here on Bob Dylan's birthday so the local radio station had the whole day dedicated to his music. It was perfect for what we were looking for. We hiked, visited Catskill Animal Sanctuary, and swam in one of the local swimming holes (which was breathtaking). This cottage was a lovely walk into the center of woodstock (about .8miles away). The food was phenomenal and the people were so friendly. The Garden Cafe was my favorite. Lovely vegan restaurant with an outdoor garden. After spending the days out and about we loved coming back to the cottage to enjoy the wildlife and beautiful view of the stars. The deer literally walk right up to the cottage. Although we did not use any, we did notice and love all the fresh herbs around the cottage as well. It was such a wonderful getaway and I can't thank Jennifer enough for all she did for us.
We spent 2 nights in this cute little cottage, just on the edge of town tucked behind trees. It was March, so the trees were quite bare. But I imagine in the spring and fall it's absolutely stunning and feels even more woodsy and private. Inside it's bright, nicely furnished, simple and clean - there's a TV too though we didn't end up using it. We ended up sleeping on the pull out couch both nights, but there is also a lofted bed. The ceiling felt a little to low to us up there, so we opted to sleep on the pull out in the living room where it felt more open and airy.
The town of Woodstock is what you'd expect. Adorable, little upstate town with plenty of small shops and restaurants. There's some nice hikes nearby. But I prefer the hike at Katerskill Falls (about a 30 min drive) over the Overlook hike. Although, the ruins of the Overlook hotel is pretty damn cool if you are into that sort of thing (which I am!).
I'd recommend going to Shindig - that was the best meal we had in Woodstock. Cucina and Oriole 9 were basic. Also, a short drive to Saugerties and you'll find a lovely spot called Miss Lucy's. Had an awesome meal there.
Oh, and I have to mention the STARS. Blew me away. So beautiful. Coming from Brooklyn that was a real treat. Definitely want to visit again.
