Absolutely thrilled with our stay! We will definitely come back.

We rented a car from the Tenerife South airport and drove to Icod de los Vinos. The roads up the mountains can be winding and steep in places, but are nicely paved and clearly marked so as long as you're careful it isn't a problem. The views along the way are breathtaking, which makes the drive even more worthwhile.

We arranged to meet our host, Mr. Lalo, outside of a supermarket in the center of Icod de los Vinos. It was easy to find, and after we picked up groceries he had us follow his car up to the house. There is an electronic gate that provides private access to the house, gardens, and parking area. The area is nice and safe, but the extra security just adds another level of comfort. Mr. Lalo gave us a tour of the house, showed us where everything was, and provided us with a bottle of wine as a lovely welcome gift. He provided us with information about tourist activities and local sights, then left us to enjoy our stay. The hosts live next door, and are available if you need them, but they do not bother you. We had plenty of privacy and had a wonderful vacation.

This house is so lovely; it exceeded all of my expectations. I loved its authentic Canarian feel, but also its modern amenities (Seriously, it has everything. The beds are comfortable, the water is hot, the wifi connection is good, and there is a TV in the living room, etc). Do not hesitate to book this place! Each morning we looked out the kitchen window or walked to the patio area to see the ocean, and the villages scattered across the mountainside. Every night we laid in lounge chairs and looked at the stars--I have never seen so many shooting stars in my life. It was truly magical. We were able to build our own fire in the barbecue room to cook our food at night. There are also plenty of great local restaurants of you want to eat out, and lots of local sights to see. We also were able to travel all over the island with our car so it was a great home base for our adventures. It is probably helpful to know some Spanish since most locals speak little English--we hardly knew any though and managed just fine. Everyone is so kind and happy to help.

I highly recommend this place if you want an authentic experience away from the touristy areas! I will never forget this trip or this house. We will definitely be back. It is a truly special place, I'm so glad we stayed here.
