About Owner/Mary Ann Camacho aka "MAC"

Yes those are my 'Turquoise Toes' and my glass of Vino enjoying Happy Hour and a delicious book by the San Juan River at Sunset! Our family lives in Miami, Fl. but my heart is always at our log home in the gorgeous San Juan Mountains and Pagosa Springs! I'm a full time realtor in Miami and have 5 wonderful children, so escaping to our hideaway is a total delight for me!

Owner/Mary Ann Camacho aka "MAC" purchased this cabin in 1994

Why Owner/Mary Ann Camacho aka "MAC" chose Pagosa Springs

I love that our home is on the San Juan River! Nothing better than to sit and relax while viewing & hearing the sounds of the San Juan flow by. You can fly fish and kayak right in your own backyard. Take a day or nightime soak in the Jacuzzi or take a nap in the hammock! No better place than our deck to sit with friends/family or read a book in solitude. There is a outdoor firepit for enjoyment or making smores after a nice BBQ dinner on the gas grill. Incredible stars at night as you enjoy the Jacuzzi or a camp fire in all 4 seasons. Skiing-Jacuzzi-hiking-jacuzzi- San Juan River- Jacuzzi- Mountain views too! Got the picture? Heaven on Earth!

What makes this cabin unique

Enjoy soaking and relaxing in the Jacuzzi day or night as you gaze and enjoy the sounds of the San Juan River passing your way! I love to have an outdoor fire next to the river and sit in the gorgeous custom made Adirondack chairs either sipping my coffee or wine, depending on the time of day. There is nothing more peaceful and amazing than the constellation of stars each night as you sit out on the deck, you feel like you are in heaven! Our log home is so warm and cozy, filled with southwestern charm that just brings a warm embrace and smile to your face the minute you arrive! Memories made in our log home will for certain bring you back again and again! cheers...MAC

We had a wonderful stay at MAC's. The pictures do not do it justice. I knew we made the right choice when our four kids entered and shouted AWESOME!!! This cabin was cozy, clean and roomy for our crew. The location was spot on. MAC was so gracious in working with us on dates. We booked out super early then had to change our dates unexpectedly. So happy that it all worked out and we got to experience the cabin and share how great it was. Austin Texas Crew

Great place and location!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at the house and in Pagosa Springs. The house is just like the pictures and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved the river, big deck and awesome hot tub. Lots of things to do for a family with teenagers. We fished, hiked, went to the hot springs, tubed down the Dan Juan river and ate out lots. Loved all the locally owned shops and restaurants. The house is just a few minutes away from downtown. Perfect location. MAC responded quickly to all emails and also returned our security deposit within days after staying there.

Spring Breaker with family

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this cabin just outside of Pagosa Springs. It is just a few miles outside of town, which was perfect for us because it had the feel of being in the mountains...especially since the river is just steps away from the deck. My wife and I went with our two kids and two grandparents. We never felt like we were stepping on each others toes. There is plenty of space. The cabin is well maintained, clean, and is in a great location. While we were there we went skiing for a couple of days and had a great time. I would love to come back sometime in the summer to enjoy hiking/backpacking in the surrounding mountains.

My boyfriend and I stayed at MACs cabin for a weeklong ski vacation. Words can't describe how great this place is. I felt like I was in her home not a sterile vacation rental. The river in the back yard, the hot tub all amazing. Can't wait to go back!!!!

No words

I still can not find words to describe this cottage! It was as if we were living a Fairy Tale!! Sitting by the fire with a bottle of wine grilling fresh fish and various meets that we'd never tasted under the stars, right beside the gorgeous river and soaking in the hot tub was like a dream come true! So peaceful and relaxing, the best therapy ever! I had searched on homeaway for weeks trying to find the most perfect cottage and that I did! Mac was so helpful with everything and we had total privacy during our stay in a small quite neighborhood just outside the beautiful little town of Pagosa Springs. I loved checking out the antique shops and rock shops and wood crafts and also had a great lunch at Kippies. The Hot Springs were very reviving and not many people were there, very clean and lots of pools to choose from right on the cold river. It was crazy watching some jump into the 116./. "lobster Pot" after soaking in the freezing river. We managed to climb up to Wolf Creek Falls and almost made it to Piedra falls but it got a bit dangerous at the end as it started raining so we turned around. I must say the best part of the trip was the cabin and some of the absolutely breathtaking scenic drives. We saw the turning of fall colors as well as snow on the mountain peaks, wild dogs, deer, rabbits, fox, racoons, ducks, wish we had the time to go in the forest to see more! The cabin is furnished so tastefully with an antique fire pit and stove, rustic furniture and everything you would need besides groceries. Next trip will have to be longer! Memories will last a lifetime!!! I highly recommend this cabin! Even though we drove from Denver, the drive was beautiful and well worth it!!! Thank you Mac so much!

Owner's Response: Wow! I'm so happy you both had an amazing time at our log home~ cabin! I agree with you it's like living in a fairytale. Our favorite thing is also to make an outdoor fire and sit by the river with a nice bottle of vino and enjoy good conversations, quiet time listening to the Crackeling of the fire and the sounds of the San Juan river passing by before our eyes. Followed by a relaxing soak in our Jacuzzi. Our favorite it stargazing from our Jacuzzi! It seems like you really discovered a lot during your stay. I'm so happy you were able to experience some hiking and the fall colors prior to winters arrival. In my younger years, I was one of those crazy people that jumped from the Loster Pot into the San Juan River in the middle of winter ~ nowadays I'm very happy just soaking in the Hot Springs and getting a incredible massage there! Supposedly it's very therapeutic to jump from hot to cold??? Our children actually jump from our jacuzzi and then roll in the snow and then jump back into the Jacuzzi! The joys of being young or Swedish! I hear they do this in Sweden all the time, no matter the age! I'm so happy you made it up to Wolf Creek ~ Treasure Falls and were able to climb up. Thank you for sharing our "Little Piece of Earthly Heaven." I so enjoy sharing our home with others that love it as we do ~ I hope Y'all come back next year with your other relatives from Denver! I'll buy Y'all a nice bottle of wine for your arrival cheer! Thank you for the nice review and loving our home! Best Wishes~ Mac
