Andy Hamlin purchased this cottage in 1926
My grandfather built this cottage in 1926 and it has been in my family ever since. Located on 2 acres right on the water, beautiful private shoreline perfect for swimming (for young children as well), 25 acres of fields in back of the house to explore, great area for fishing, sailing, bike riding, walking, bird watching, exploring and just relaxing.
This cottage has extraordinary water views, and a front porch with comfortable furniture for enjoying those views. The area has lots to see and do, including its proximity to the Thousand Islands. Good restaurants within a reasonable distance. Ft. Drum is not far away if one is visiting family posted there. Inside the cottage, it is quaint and spacious. The fireplace with its gas insert was cozy and warm on cool September evenings. The place is well appointed in the kitchen, although we didn't do much cooking! The weather was wonderful. We had a very nice week
Andy's place is great. We had a wonderful stay, even with a fair amount of rain. The kitchen was well equipped, the house is well maintained and spacious. We made strawberry jam, plenty of room in the kitchen for four of us! We entertained on many nights with plenty of seating and dining space. The flat rock bottom lake front was perfect for our 4 year old and 6 year old children. The sunsets were spectacular. Thank you for a very relaxing two weeks.
We enjoyed are stay, the house is great as is the location. Fishing is great as is sightseeing on Wolfe Island and Canada, Clayton, and Sackets Harbor. Favorite restaurants were Blue Heron in Chamont and Tin Pan Alley in Sackets Harbor. Thanks
