Fantastic location. Our home is located in a residential neighborhood just a block away from the Merrimac River, The Boardwalk on the waterfront and Cashman Park with its great play ground. Several of the surrounding homes are circa 17th century that have been beautifully restored and maintained. The town center is only a 7-minute walk where you will find a beautiful waterfront area with fine restaurants, casual eateries, coffee shops, fun retail shops, New England antique shops, art galleries and the Newburyport Farmer’s Market. Park your car and walk to the best Newburyport has to offer!

During the busy summer months of July and August we only offer weekly rentals. Saturday to Saturday.

About Sara

Enjoying one of our many walks on Plum Island!

Sara purchased this townhome in 1996

Why Sara chose Merrimack Valley & Essex County

We used to live in this home and love Newburyport and New England. We have family in the area in so we remodeled the home for our retirement.

Wow! What a great time we had at this meticulously maintained house in Newburyport. This is NOT a beach house, but more of an experience in small-city living, as you can walk everywhere. The unit is spacious and nicely decorated.

Great Family Rental

  • 5 of 5

Our family (6 adults and 3 kids) loved this house--well appointed, fabulous kitchen, plenty of room, great location--overall perfect. The house is very open so we weren't tripping over each other. We watched fireworks over the water from the upstairs deck. Had most of our meals on the backyard patio. We were able to walk just across the street to a park for the kids and to a boardwalk that went along the harbor. Easy walk to all the downtown shops and restaurants. We would rent again in a hearbeat.

This is a wonderful time we had in this beautiful home in Newburyport. We had six adults and a chils for the week of Thanksgiving 2016. The home is exactly as described anve very comfortable and well stocked. The home is in a great location just blocks from downtown Newburyport. All the rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The fireplace in the livingroom and dining room is awesome! The bedrooms are very comfortable and there is a a washer and dryer convienently located on the second floor with the bedrooms. Booking with Sara was great and there were great instructions on how to work everything. I highly reccomend this property.

Everything you Might Want

  • 5 of 5

This was a fall trip of five good (female) friends. We were looking for a spacious and well-located place for a long weekend retreat. It was everything we wanted and, considering the weather, needed. This 1/2 house is immaculate and well- appointed. The living room easily accommodated all of us and had a two-sided gas fireplace (so cozy!). From the living room flowed a large dining area open to an equally large and well-stocked kitchen. There is a comfortable patio/backyard right off the kitchen. The four bedrooms were very welcoming and a good size. All this turned out to be very fortunate as the weather was inclement. Of course, we went out and explored charming Newburyport, the area, and even went to Portsmouth, only about a 20 minute drive, but due to the weather we stayed in more than if the weather had been good. HOWEVER, becasue the house was so spacious and comfortable we didn't care too much. Good friends in a comfortable environment can have a great time anyway and we did. If the house had been cramped or not comfortable our stay during inclement weather might not have been ruined, but staying at Sara's place salvaged it for us. We can't wait to return in nicer weather!

One of our best vacation properties

  • 5 of 5

What can I say?

From my initial contact, to our (reluctant) departure, this rental experience was first class.

The home is warm and inviting, historic and modern all at once, and SO quiet.

Clean and well furnished with comfy furniture, wonderful bedding and the best kitchen ever. There were even books/toys for our grandson! Everything was within walking distance, shops, pizza, parks, riverfront, espresso!

We were not wanting for anything. Frank (the caretaker next door) was like a waiter in a fine restaurant -- he seemed to appear when you needed him, but was not intrusive at all.

We have only good things to say about this experience. We would definitely return.

Wonderful Newburyport Property!

  • 5 of 5

This duplex proved to be a perfect choice for our recent college reunion of eight dear friends. A quick .3 mile walk lands you right in downtown Newburyport. From the moment you arrive, you feel a part of this quaint historic town.

There is a great kitchen/dining area that was ideal for gathering and a table with seating for eight. A nice gas fireplace added the perfect touch on a chilly night. Kitchen was well equipped and furniture quite comfortable. Small patio off the kitchen is another fun gathering spot. Property manager was extremely friendly and easy to work with.

Highly recommend!

Home is ideally located for a New England Holiday. Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the White Mountains of New Hampshire as well as the southern coast of Maine (Ogunquit, York, Kennebunkport, Portland) and Cape Ann, Cope Cod and Rhode Island are easy day trips by auto.

Home is only minutes from Interstate 95 and Highway 1. Bus and train transportation is available to take you to Boston, which is just 38 miles south (45 minutes by bus or 55 minutes by train) The train station is a very pleasant 20 minute walk from the house.

Newburyport is a quintessential New England seacoast town with fantastic Federalist architecture (among other styles) a small performing arts center, free outdoor concerts, a maritime museum, whale watches, dinner cruises, kayaking etc. Plum Island is only 4 miles or a 30 minute bike ride and contains the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge as well as miles of beautiful sandy beach; great for walking, beaching, battle boarding, surfing, kayaking and biking. Maudsley State Park is just 3 miles away.
