I've always loved Paris- my daughter is even called Paris. It's special, for me for many reasons: food, shops, beauty, history and romance as well as it's people.
I decided to buy with my friend Angela, who adores Paris too, and the low price of properties in Paris compared to London at the time meant we could buy a pied-a-terre. On a fact finding trip to Paris I found a company who could search for properties for us and when we next visited, the first property we saw was Rue au Maire and we immediately fell in love with it!
In between visits we rent it out through Paris Rental Connections and they look after everything for us. The property has been praised by many guests, both for the location and decor and the good service they receive.
It's been a dream come true to buy my own apartment in a beautiful city that I love!
The location is exceptional. Being in the centre of Paris you can walk to almost anywhere you might want to go. It's minutes from several metro stations and has many bus connections and is so convenient. The flat is an ideal pied a terre when visiting Paris.
This was a longer-term stay - I lived in the appartment for over two months, on my own. And I have to honestly say that I was extremely happy there throughout the entire two months and never missed a single thing! As others have pointed out, the location of this place is wonderful - surrounded by nice bars and restaurants, a few steps away from the Arts et Metiers metro station, less than a five minute walk to the all important no. 4 metro line (runs north to south across all of Paris), and within easy walking to the Marais, Bastille, Republique, Centre Pompidou, Les Halles etc. The appartment itself faces into an internal courtyard, and I was really surprised just how quiet that was. No sound until 7.30/8am, so a really good night's sleep can be had (bed is super-comfortable too, as is the pullout couch). The kitchen is well equipped, so if you get provisions at the magic Marche des Enfants Rouges nearby you can cook your goodies there comfortably! Everything else one needs - even for long term stays - is in the place too: hair dryer, ironing board, a few DVDs... And the agency is really easy to deal with, quick in responding and reacting; I also really appreciated the fact that a greeter (very friendly!) welcomed me in the appartment (not to mention the welcome bottle of wine :-) ). Though I lived in the appartment on my own, it would be spacious enough for a couple or a small family. I have to say I really loved my temporary Parisian appartment and can wholeheartedly recommend it!
The appartment is very cozy and effective also for a prolonged staying, very strategically located near metro stations and shops, while many sightseeing spots are just at foot distance.
The staff was absolutelly kind and attentive (I highly appreciated the complementary bottle of good wine...).
Absolutelly to be recomended to everyone but people with reduced mobility, because of the stairs.
The apartment is at a nice location, stone's throw from the metro station, 2 km from the railway station Gare-de-lest. The greeter, Shelly, was very friendly and helpful. The apartment is on the 3rd floor and there's no lift. It had the advantage that there's adequate light, but i went in July and the heat was killing! There is no cross ventilation; all windows are on the same side of the house. There are two fans, but i had to carry them everywhere, even to the loo, to avoid melting away! The floor boards are old and creaky. Neighbors are noisy, especially on a Friday night. The apartment is well stocked with almost everything one would need on a holiday, even movies and books, maps, toolkit..... The kitchen is GOOD. It has a washing machine, a microwave, a gas hob with an Owen, a small fridge, and everything else one needs in a kitchen. That's the best part of the house! The bedroom was small but adequate. The sofa-cum-bed in the lounge is comfortable. TV is small. Recommended!
We arrived at the apartment on a hot day but the management had the fresh air flowing and fans going to keep us comfortable. We were a party of 3 adults and found the apartment very comfortable and well equipped. The location was great for walking or taking the Metro. I would definitely recommend this apartment to Paris visitors!
Great location in the centre of Paris. In the Marais - lots of restaurants, cafes , boutiques. Close to the Seine a short walk to Notre Dame.
