Thank you so much for sharing the cottage with us!
The photos don't do it justice!! (As you already know, we have booked again for later this summer- and I'm quite sure in the fall as well..)
The memories made will never be forgotten - trying to get a fire started only to have a thunderstorm knock it out-then the wind-then rain again, made for lovely sleeping at night. Your location is fantastic in relation to our favorite wineries. We typically vacation in Boston, but after a few days in this perfectly relaxing area, we think you have converted us! Thanks Again!! (I think I can survive the last three weeks of teaching Pre-K now!)
we spent ten days at this cottage for the most part it was the best stay we ever had on seneca lake the only downfalls was the big party at the motel down the street on saturday cars lined up down the road all day and blocked the dock and lake view our stay was still excellent we did feel it was priced a little high but we still thank you for a great gettaway
We decided to forgo our usual summer trip to Cotter's Cove in favor of the fall this year, and it did not disappoint. Ok, well maybe the weather could have been a little better, but who can control that?
Kathy's cottage, as always, was welcoming. This was the first year we had to worry about needing heat while there, and by far it was very cozy. Everything we could have needed was there when we arrived, which is always appreciated. For the first time, we cooked inside (we usually use the grill), and never had to look far for pots and pans.
Kathy continues to make improvements to both the cottage and the grounds every year - this year we were treated to a new fence with solar lights bordering the yard, and the new washer and dryer inside.
In short, this is a wonderful place to stay,, is conveniently and centrally located to the best wineries, and Kathy is an amazing hostess. Please, seriously consider this location for your next stay at Seneca Lake (just not the week we want to go :) )
Highly recommend! It is located perfectly in the middle of the wine trail. Its so easy to find right of 14. The cottage itself was so cute and cozy. My girlfriends and I absolutely loved staying there. The view of the lake was so beautiful and it was walking distance to a local bar to eat and have a few cocktails at. We will be back for sure!
The property is awesome. Sure, you have the neighbors house which "looks nicer", but we would rather this place, all day!!! I guarantee you have a better experience. We plan on returning. Like everyone else has said, Kathy Cotter is the best. It just feels like a lake cabin and obviously people treat it that way. "Pay it forward." Take something from the cabinets, leave something behind for the next. At least that's how we felt. The lake is gorgeous; We wished the water wasn't so choppy so we could take a boat out.... Which the local rentals are cheap. $150 for a pontoon for four hours, deal. We did go to the bar which is super close, but they shut down at 9 on a Friday. That's all I got.
We had a great week at the cottage. It was so relaxing and peaceful. When we arrived Kathy had a snack waiting - which was delicious by the way. The views were fabulous and I have great photos of the sunrises and the lake. We had a blast visiting the local wineries and breweries and then coming home and relaxing around the fire pit. Our dogs enjoyed their stay as well especially in the screened in porch and laying in the sun. That was one of my favorite spots for coffee and reading in the mornings. Can't wait to go back!!
This was a great spot. Excellent lake views and great amenities. The cottage was very comfortable and spacious for a one bedroom. Lots of outdoor space for camp fires. We had a fantastic time.
North Plum Point Road is located at just about the half way mark on the West Side of Seneca Lake on route 14 in the New York Finger Lakes area. A perfect location to relax and enjoy the sunrise, swim, or a short trip to explore the wine trail or Watkins Glen State Park.
