529 Tarpon PondThis spacious Tarpon Pond home is in a great location. Just 1.2 miles from the Seabrook Island Club's oceanside pools, dining, golf and beaches, it is an easy bike ride to enjoy these fine amenities. Nestled under shady oak trees, it is in a peaceful neighborhood.
The lovely cottage is very comfortably decorated. It has Pergo flooring throughout - perfect for a beach home. The family room has plenty of inviting seating, a large TV, DVD player and fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped and is next to the dining area that offers seating at the table for 6. There are three bedrooms on the first floor. The master bedroom has a king size bed, TV and adjoining full bathroom. The second bedroom has two twin bed, and TV. The third bedroom has a queen bed plus a TV. There is a full bathroom between bedrooms and a washer and dryer too. The upstairs loft serves as the 4th bedroom with a queen bed. All linens and towels (we do ask you to bring your own beach towels) are provided for your use.
Amenity cards giving you access to the facilities of the Seabrook Island Club, are included in the rent. These cards give you access to the oceanfront pools (seasonal), Pelican's Nest outdoor restaurant/bar (seasonal), Island House restaurant/bar, golf and tennis. Additional fees are charged for all activities except outdoor pool usage.
This cottage is pet friendly! An additional pet fee is applied if you want to bring your dog with you.

Great long weekend location
Older but nice, clean, quiet home that was perfect for our family during the Kiawah Island marathon weekend. Had everything we needed and was just a short drive to the beach. Loved seeing all the deer on the island. Coastal Getaways was very communicative and ensured we had a great stay. We will stay here again.

Below is an email I sent to the property manager. We actually left on Thursday instead of Saturday because we were just tired of it. I didn't feel that it was up to the standard I'm used to for a home at Seabrook Island.
I have been disappointed with our rental house. While it's not technically unclean, I don't feel it's up to the standard I've come to expect from homes at Seabrook.
Also, the kitchen is not properly stocked. We tried to cook steaks tonight only to figure out that there are about 3 steak knives.
The first time we grilled out, my husband had to manually light it as the lighter doesn't work. The second time we tried to grill out, we were disappointed to discover that our grill was out of gas just as we went to light it up. So we had to cram our nice, expensive steaks in the oven.
The shower in the master bedroom is terrible. It is too small and very old. I don't feel much cleaner after having taken a shower in it. The water leaks out all over the rug, making for a gross and squishy step out of the shower.
The remotes to the tv don't work properly - probably need batteries. I don't see any anywhere and it's not my job to buy batteries.
Downstairs under the house, there is a used baby diaper and wipes scattered about.
The walls are all banged up, which leads me to believe the home has not been properly cared for. The rooms are all so dark, that I can barely see find clothes to wear from my suitcase.
The amount of roach traps I've seen in cabinets lead me to believe there is a problem there - I've seen two roaches myself since we got here. I know it's Charleston and roaches are a mainstay, but still. It's gross.
The fridge doesn't seem to chill very well and the doors won't stay closed.
Overall, we are very disappointed.
Hi Cate, As we discussed earlier, I am very sorry you were disappointed in the house. It is a darker homer - we have tried lightening it up with new, brighter comforters. It is clean - the cleaner does a very nice job. I have propane tanks that I brought over as soon as you let me know the tank was out - unfortunately it wasn't until the next day as well as batteries. We have no way of knowing how much gas is left in a tank. The roach traps are just a preventative - houses are sprayed on a regular basis, but we do have palmetto bugs in the south - particularly if it rains alot. I hope you give Seabrook another try.
