Cosy, historical semi-detached house "Hilders", 2 storeys, from the 14th century. In the centre of Rye, 6 km from the sea, 6 km from the beach. Private: patio, garden furniture, barbecue, public parking. Shop, restaurant, bar 200 m, railway station "Rye" 500 m. Golf course (18 hole) 10 km. Nearby attractions: Camber Castle 2 km, Rye harbour and Camber Sands 7 km, Hastings 18 km, Bodiam Castle 20 km, Dungeness National Nature Reserve 20 km.
4-room cottage on 3 levels. Comfortable and cosy furnishings: living/dining room with open-hearth fireplace, dining table and radio. Kitchen (4 hot plates, oven, dishwasher, microwave, freezer). On the lower ground floor: living room with TV (flat screen), radio, CD-player and DVD. Upper floor: (steep stair), 1 double bedroom with 1 double bed. Bath/shower/WC. 2nd upper floor: (steep stair), 1 room with 2 beds. Gas heating. Patio. Facilities: washing machine, dryer. Internet (WiFi, free). Please note: not suitable for children under 5 years. Maximum 2 pets/ dogs allowed. TV only EN. Please note, the house is quite small with low ceilings which may be an issue for some guests.

Altes charmantes Haus in sehr zentraler Lage

Das Haus ist sehr besonders durch sein Alter, seine Zimmeraufteilung und die liebevolle Einrichtung. Der Hof mit Aussenstühlen und gepflegter Bepflanzung hat uns gut gefallen. Die Lage ist sehr zentral, Parkplätze etwas abseits. Die Dusche könnte etwas mehr Wasserdruck bieten;) Falls man plant zu kochen muss man wissen dass der Herd sehr alt ist und länger braucht. Der Vermieter hat uns zur Begrüßung einen lieben Gruß und schon etwas Verpflegung bereitgestellt. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Fantastic location

This is quite a fun "landmark" location. On the edge of the town centre, but the town is very compact so it's not far to anywhere. Rye has a lot for anyone interested in history, and this house is ideal for that kind of visitor. It's not big but it has ship's timbers, a range cooker, tiny crooked stairways, sloping floors and pretty views. Very clean and well maintained. Helpful owner too. If driving, recommend parking in the station car park (currently about 15 quid for a weekly ticket).
