The views from this gulf front home are unbelievable! Walk off the deck and you are on the beach, steps from the ocean, set your stuff and leave it. No shared boardwalks, community access, or streets to hassle with.
This 4/4 beach front home has been meticulously constructed with sea grass green hardi siding, metal roof, vaulted cypress tongue and groove ceilings, wide plank Australian cypress floors, upscale furnishings that are beach (kid) friendly, artsy, in cool key west colors. The bedding is plush with luxurious linens, thick thirsty towels, and blankets. The baths all have Mexican sealed satillio tile, solid surface flecked vanities, and fun professionally designed tiled showers and tubs. There is a fireplace which is made with 850 year old reclaimed timbers from the Apalachiacola River, ceiling fans throughout and a kitchen to die for! Silestone countertops, stainless steel appliances, beadboard cabinetry, fully stocked with every dish, appliance, pan, pot, or utensil you could possibly need.
There are two master suites with beautiful views of the ocean. One master with a king bed has beautiful potterybarn furnishings in vibrant key west colors and a awesome master bathroom. 4 large windows overlook the ocean.
The second master suite has a queen bed and is designed in nautical style. Red, white, and denim blue furnishings. It also has it's own private luxurious bath suite. 3 large windows overlooking the ocean.
The third bedroom has a queen bed with cream distressed beachy furniture, beautiful organic coastal linens with private bathroom located steps away in the hallway.
Fourth bedroom is Kid's paradise with it's own funky artsy bathroom. Vibrant colors with twin over full bunk and a Maui striped futon. Has additional kid size arts/craft table with chairs.
All bedrooms have flat panel televisions.
Check out the wow factor in the photos with the windows. There are three full glass huge picture windows in the two story living room that overlook the ocean with unobstructed views. The sun sets directly in front of this home for the most spectacular sunsets you have ever seen. You can literally sit on the front deck OR covered back porch relaxing and watch your kids play in the sand and surf.
This beach is incredible. Voted #1 beach in all of America (Port St. Joe State Park) three years in a row. White sand beaches, blue/green ocean, dolphins playing daily, loggerhead turtles, amazing fishing, and the infamous St. Joe State Park (where my kids find sand dollars the size of dinner plates)! You can wade in the bay's crystal clear waters at the park and find hermit crabs, sting ray, fish, craps, scallops, starfish, even manatees!
With all this I saved the best for last. You can still have bonfires (can you say oyster roasts) on the beach and even ride horses with the local stables. We have fished right in front of our home, caught dinner, and then cooked it on the beach. This is definitely old Florida, no crowds, beautiful sand and water as well as complete relaxation. You are going to LOVE IT!
THIS HOME RENTS FROM SUNDAY TO SUNDAY IN SPRING/SUMMER SEASON
We reside (Kelly and Gary) in the North Georgia Mountains in a 1850 farmhouse that we restored. Gary has been a home builder for over 25 years and Kelly has been involved in various forms of real estate since 1986. We run our lives in constant chaos and our only remaining sanity is when we can escape to the Cape!
Kelly purchased this house in 2008
Our grandparents were from the Miami, Delray Beach, Coral Gables area and I spent many a holiday at the beach growing up. Truthfully, once grown I never cared to own any beach property. We would vacation with other family members once a year to various beaches which always seemed to be overcrowded with overpriced restaurants and forms of entertainment. Then we visited the Cape in 2002 and loved it. The kids were thrilled just being able to hang out on the beach and explore the peninsula without any worries of crime. This is small town atmosphere with the most friendliest people around.
The kids spend hours fishing for crabs, finding sand dollars, snorkeling, hiking, swimming, skim boarding, EATING AT THE RAW BAR, hanging out on the beach with new found friends. Late night games, domino's, cards, poker, bonfires, camping on the beach, or shopping in Apalachicola. This is the place you come to reconnect with your kids, spouse, family and friends.
I have many 5 star reviews on this property. Please email me and I will forward the reviews from my guestbook. You'll LOVE this home!!!
My family, friends and I just came back from a weekly getaway from Twilight! This place is above and beyond perfect! It's clean, stocked, roomy! The "kids room" actually differs a bit, its even better I would say, the tiny bed is moved to the king size bed room and they have a new bed on ropes which is absolutely great! We were supposed to stay six nights but extended to seven nights... We met the owners in person-great people. The beach access is the best of all!! A few steps off the deck and you are literally in the sand, very remote-if you are in for complete relaxation and quietness this is the place you want to go to. The guys did some fishing, took out some sharks and other kinds of fish, there are plenty of shells along the beach. Amazing sunrises and sunsets! We couldn't ask for more! Thank you Kelly and Gary!
We loved Cape San Blas and Twilight! What a house! Very, very well stocked! More than we expected. Had everything we needed and more!!! Very spacious and comfortable! Love that there was a lot of living room seating for everyone to spread out! We had so much fun in the gulf (which was sooo close to house), had bonfires, collected shells, snorkled, scalloped, took a sunset cruise, ate, shopped, saw dolphins swimming everyday, sting rays, beautiful birds, and fell in ocean fully clothed....Lol. Locals were very friendly! Tours were great! Loved Cone Heads, Scallop Cove, and donuts at Trading Post! Homeowners thought of everything! There were games, books, toys, beach accessories, tons of information of were to visit and what to see! We had better weather than forecasted! Only rained a hour-ish one mid morning. We all watched a movie and played Bingo! We had a 4 year old, 10 year old, and 6 adults. Had plenty of room! Tv's and DVD players in every room! So nice that every bedroom had their own bathroom! We loved the decor! We did not want to leave! I saw every sunrise, and sunset! Would love to stay here again. My only suggestion would be to have a free standing base or hole drilled in picnic table for an umbrella for a little shade on deck. Mind you, it never stopped us from sitting out there! I would recommend this house to anyone. Thanks!
We had a family group of 11 for a week here last February. My dad had been diagnosed the month before with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, so this trip was more special than we could have imagined. While our dear father passed away last August, this trip/house/beach was one of the best memories we ever made together. The house is fantastic--my children LOVED the kids bedroom! The kitchen had everything and more that we needed. The view of the beach out the front window is spectacular! And the beach is right out the door. We sat on the deck and watched dolphins swim by. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful place to relax, this is it! The locals were very friendly and helpful. We loved the Dockside in Port St Joe for some great fried seafood. The Owl Cafe in Apalachicola is more upscale for a fancier night out. And the stuffed shrimp at the Indian Pass raw bar, were beyond delicious. We would absolutely love to come back! Thank you so very much!
What a blessing it was to spend a week in such a glorious home. My parents, myself and my children and my sister's family just returned from a perfect vacation. Drinking our morning coffee on the deck as we overlooked the gulf was a memory that will stay with us forever. The kitchen in this place is one that I would love to have n my home. Not only does it have everything you could possible need to cook with, it is beautiful just to sit at the table and look at the beautiful cabinetry. Plenty of bathrooms, so no one is ever waiting. The bedrooms are so spacious and roomy that you have no trouble feeling at home. Seeing my 72 year old mother step her first steps on the beach while staying here, and watching my father standing out in the water while fishing is something that I will never forget. Even though this family went on family vacations while growing up, this one was perfect. The home is painted in peppy colors that make you feel calm and happy- not the plain tans and whites. When I return to Florida for my next vacation, this home will be at the top of my list. Thank you for such wonderful memories
My family, 4 young children (age 6 and under) and the grandparents had a wonderful week trip in Cape San Blas. The house is very spacious and colorful. Even though the weather was not the warmest, we made bonfires on the beach and had nice fires in the house. The beach was so close and we could be in the house and still watch the kids playing outside. We would stay here again!
The home is very nice and Kelly was great to deal with. We started our trip with Tropical storm Debby which put a kink in our plans the first couple days :( but after that the weather was beautiful and the water cleared soon after. The house had everything we could need the only suggestions would be a gas grill instead of charcoal and a awning for the front deck...the home is spacious lots of seating inside and out...we snorkeled in the bay at the park, went on a snorkeling trip with seahorse safari, went horseback riding on the beach, fishing from the shore, and made a trip one day shopping to Panama City. We visited Coneheads for ice cream, trading post for those quick items, and lots of trips to piggly wiggly..lol...the closest grocery. We ate at Toucans ( which was good but pricey) , provisions in Mexico beach which was great and definitely recommend, and we bought some local seafood one night and cooked at home. We grabbed lunch one day in port saint joe at Beach Combers which was great and highly recommend .....recommend this home and it's owners .....we definitely hope to visit again!!!! FYI...it's definitely remote so plan to drive a little if you are looking to do the typical "beach touristy" things but its quiet and family oriented just what we were looking for but close enough to find things for everyone to enjoy :)
Dolphin watching, oystering, shark fishing, scalloping, bird sanctuary
