Strawberry Retreat Center is located in the rapidly growing vacation and retirement center of the north central part of the state. Strawberry, at an elevation of 6047 feet was named for the wild strawberries that grow in the area. The community is about 100 miles northeast of Phoenix. The area has four seasons, but none are severe; although snow falls in the winter, it usually melts quickly.
The retreat center is designed as a vacation/retreat facility. The main lodge (a log home) was built in 1999. The property is comprised of a 'Lodge' that can accommodate up to 10 persons (sleeping). It is a spacious beautiful home where many people can spread out and relax in front of a huge rock gas fireplace (spanning both floors of the home) or sit out on the deck enjoying views of the tall ponderosa pines of the National Forest.
Adjoining accommodations (with full facilities) available for additional 12+ persons at additional fee - please inquire.

Strawberry Retreat Center is owned and operated by Pine Summit Bible Camp, a year round camp that is located in Prescott, AZ. This facility was purchased so small retreats could be hosted for more intimate settings. A resident caretaker oversees the property.
The Owner purchased this lodge in 2000
Strawberry, AZ is a delightful small community surrounded by the National Forest. There are abundant recreation opportunities from hiking to four-wheeling. Elevation of over 6000 feet makes it a cool escape from the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix) in the summertime.
A tranquil setting surrounded by tall ponderosa pines.
Fabulous house! We were a group of 36 people on a budget. A family reunion with ages ranging from baby to 73. Not an easy task finding accommodations for that many for a reasonable price. And there was plenty of space.
We rented both houses which were connected by a long hallway. Had 4 bedrooms, 5 toilets, 3 showers in one building and 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms in the other building. There was also a studio suite we could have rented for a small fee, but declined since the other space was big enough. Only one bedroom was up stairs, so perfect for wheelchair accessibility. Even had an ADA shower.
No A/C, but the fans and windows open kept things cool.
Heidi who took our reservation and the caretakers that live next door were very kind and answered my many questions before we arrived.
The teens and young adults had a lot of fun with the pool table. And adults and children, I guess everyone had fun with it.
Large living room in each building. Medium size kitchen in each, but we were able to cook and feed 36 people.
HUGE yard! Kids had a great time playing on it. Great for games, football. The yard borders the Tonto national forest so you can go for a hike, walk or ATVing straight from the property. Horseshoes, basketball...
My family was very impressed I found such a big place. If we go back to Strawberry / Pine we will definitely come back.
Adjacent to National Forest for recreational opportunities such as four wheeling ATV's, hiking, etc.
