The home is situated in a secure location; a code is required for entry. Parking is available, as well as a swimming pool and a playground. The entire property is well-maintained and the neighbours are charming and helpful. A larger number of more current photos can be found on Airbnb. If interested, I can send you a link. There is a spacious and well-furnished kitchen, a guest toilet, washer and dryer, and small terrace on the ground floor and two bedrooms, each with their own bath, shower, and tub, on the 1st floor. One bedroom has a new, queen-size mattress and walk-in closet, while the other has a king-size, memory foam mattress with plenty of closet space. The accompanying bathroom has a toilet with a bidet seat, as does the guest bathroom on the ground floor. The bedrooms have wood floors, while the ground floor has tiled floor, which makes it much easier to keep everything clean. There are plenty of towels, etc. available. The transportation connections are excellent, nearly everything to see is no more than 20 minutes away. San Diego has a great network of highways! If you prefer public transportation, there is a bus stop just 5 minutes from the house. The border with Mexico is 20 minutes away, but please note that auto rental businesses require special insurance for trips to Mexico. This can be easily obtained at the border. There are fantastic golf courses in the area, the best known being Torrey Pines. One of the most beautiful and challenging courses in the world and it is not even a private club–tourists can play some holes here as well! It is easy to see why 90% of North Americans would love to live in San Diego!

About Siggi Haas
My wife and I live in Vancouver, Canada and purchased a holiday home in San Diego for ourselves. I travel often for work and did not want to spend my leisure time in hotels. We can be reached by telephone or e-mail. On site, we have a very trustworthy housekeeper, who keeps everything spick and span. I am frequently in Germany, where I own a mid-size business. I also travel around the world twice a year and, for me, San Diego is one of the loveliest cities I have come to know.
Siggi Haas purchased this House in 2014
Why Siggi Haas chose Spring Valley
The house is in San Diego, that alone is reason enough. The house is the complete holiday package. All the closets are completely empty; our personal items are kept in a separate storage area. At many rental properties there is often hardly any room for your own luggage because the closets are full of the owner’s things. We have experienced this twice ourselves.
What makes this House unique
The weather. Any more than 10 rainy days a year is unusual! The home. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms, which guarantees total privacy for up to 4 people. The setting. The house is located in a secure, well-maintained community. Strolling between the homes here almost has a European feel to it! The pool and jacuzzi area are almost always empty, so they are practically your own private, luxury pool..

The property is located in a commercial area that is not the prettiest view in San Diego. While the condo was nice, it did not have all the amenities we have come to expect from the Home Away properties we have stayed at in the past. For instance there where no face clothes in the bath rooms or any where in the house for that matter, the pillows on the beds where well used and not very comfortable, the sheets on the beds, while clean, where older and well worn (so not as soft as you would hope), the parking spot is on the other side of the building and you have to go by three other condos to get to this one. Even though it says "newly renovated" it seems a little dated. Washer and dryer where new and worked well, but the kitchen equipment was older and lacking good utensils, no sheet trays, older pots and pans etc.. The pool area is nice, but no heat for the hot tub, which is a let down, why have it if your not going to heat it. If you like just the basics this place is fine, we where hoping for a little more.
Thank you Sylvester for your review. Some comments I don't quite understand. Sure, there are no face clothes as I find those too personal. I would NEVER use any of those provided in all the hotels for my FACE!
The "well used pillows" were bought in January of this year. The older kitchen equipment? The dishwasher is two months old, the espresso machine, blender, stove and the fridge are two years old. Please understand that I cannot replace those items every year.
A fabulous place!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious and comfortable. Our son enjoyed the pool and playground area. Siggi did a terrific job communicating with us. We were able to access the house easily as well as fun things to do in the area. We would definitely stay here again.
Thank you Cheri, you were wonderful guests and will be welcome back anytime! Cheers Siggi
We were very happy with the place. It is clean and comfortable.
The owner is helpful. Place is located in the area around 10 miles East of San Diego water front. Swimming pool is very nice and it did not bother us that that we drove for about the half an hour to our destinations in Pacific beach or
LaJolla. San Diego has the good highway system and if you avoid the rush hours you are fine.
Very nice accommodations - comfortable beds, beautifully decorated. Two minor quibbles are that the dishwasher was broken during the time of our stay, and they do not have a dish rack, so we had to put the dishes on towels on the counter to dry; also, we could only locate 2 washcloths. The following is just FYI for future renters: there is only one parking space provided, period. Violators will be towed. There is on street parking, and if you do a little looking, you can find an area that you will feel safe in. Our son-in-law parked a new Charger without any problems. Also, we rent places with kitchens so that we can save on eating out, otherwise a nice trip would be out of the question. This is not the best equipped kitchen I have been in for pans and utensils, but we made do. For instance, there is no 9x13 baking pan, a size I need for my crew. On the plus side, there is a blender! And an outdoor grill on the small, but very charming patio. All in all, it was a great place to stay, and I would definitely stay there again. Also, Siggi has been such a pleasure to work with, and he refunded our deposit in a very reasonable time frame.
Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry for the broken dish washer but we only found out one day before your check in. The replacement is of course ordered and will be installed this week. If you book again I will definitely make up to you for your inconvenience.
Thank you for staying with us and I am looking forward to welcome you again!
A great property
This is a great property that the owner maintains very nicely. Fairly easy access to the freeways and all that San Diego has to offer within 15 to 20 minute drive. The location is a little off the beaten path, but for the price, this condo is an excellent value.
House was great, for the duration of our stay. Highly recommended. Kids enjoyed the pool area. Had a question they responded as quickly as they could.
Not to be missed and no more than 20 minutes away: Balboa Park, Embarcadero, Coronado Island, San Diego Zoo, Wild Life Safari, Sea World, Old Town, various beaches, and a coastal road to La Jolla. Or you can drive to Mexico in just 20 minutes! San Diego has the best weather on the North American continent with summer temperatures of 25 to 30 degrees Celsius and winter temperatures that rarely dip below 20 degrees.
