We built this home to rent to families like ours. We live downstate in Ann Arbor and vacation in our cottage year round.
Greg Hebert purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Greg Hebert chose Harbor Springs
Cross Village is one of the last un-crowded and wild areas on Lake Michigan.
What makes this Cottage unique
Lake Michigan, eagles, light houses, Harbor Springs and Mackinaw, skiing and boating, minutes from everything up north.
beautiful private location right on Lake Michigan.
This place was perfect for our crowd of 13 with room to spare. It is a family friendly home with something to do for all ages. We especially loved the fire pit right on the beach. Great vacation home!
The you. Your group were excellent guests. I hope you can come back again.
Great Lake Michigan experience
House was as described. Beautiful beach, great weather. Greg was responsive to any questions we had leading up to our stay.
Beautiful vacation home
Our family of 6 adults & 6 children had a wonderful time at Cedar Bend Cottage the first week of August. The house is very large! The lower level has a huge tv with DVD & VHS player for entertainment on rainy afternoons. There’s an air hockey table. The Harry Potter room under the stairs was a surprise that the kids loved. The private beach is lovely with plenty of room to spread out & enjoy the cool clear waters of Lake Michigan. The kayaks that come with the house rental were a great bonus.
The house itself is a bit care worn but quite comfortable. The area’s natural beauty with eagles flying by daily & a nearby beaver dam make this area a wonderful escape from the hustle & bustle of crowded cities. Nearby Legs Inn serves up delicious Polish food & the nearby Tunnel of Trees is a picturesque ride. Mackinac Bridge & Island are closeby...approximately 35 miles away making a great day trip easy & fun.
Greg was helpful & responsive with the booking & answering questions. If you’re looking for a place to getaway with a large family or group of friends, Cedar Bend Cottage has a lot to offer you.
Thank you for your kind review. We are very lucky to have this wonderful cottage and look forward to sharing it with you again.
Huge place and great beach
We really enjoyed our week here. As other reviewers have noted, this house is very large. The deck is huge and really gives a lot of space to even a large group. There are houses next door, but the trees and spacing make it seem almost by itself. The photos don't do the beach justice. It is quite wide and has a very nice fire pit area. There are some six inch or so smooth rocks under the surface, but also areas of sandy bottom--great swimming.
We stayed at this rental for our annual family vacation. There was plenty of room for our gang of 14 with room to spare. The home was well appointed and it has a nice beach. Cross Village is a cute little town and is close to some of the bigger northern cities if you're looking for a day trip. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Great rental.
After a couple of hiccups when we first got there .....which the owner addressed immediately....we had a wonderful stay. The sunsets were beautiful, especially those where are guests were kayaking on velvet Lake Michigan. We enjoyed making smores at the firepit, playing air hockey, and the cool nightime breezes. The local food was great and we will definitely be back for our next family reunion! Thanks!
Thank you for your kind review and for being such an excellent guest. Linda and I are glad you had an enjoyable reunion and we look forward to your next stay. It is a truly beautiful lakeshore.
