Get away from it all at this coastal Maine gem. Sit back and relax as boats come and go from Mackeral Cove. Hear the gulls chatter and the marker bell toll. Stroll and explore the oceanside, or venture out to one of Maine’s beaches. And indulge yourself on fresh lobster caught daily.
Welcome to Bailey Island – the authentic New England island experience.
This traditional bungalow cottage comes fully furnished and sleeps six comfortably (guest must bring their own bed sheets and bath towels). The first floor includes quiet sitting and dining areas, kitchen, bathroom, and three bedrooms (One with a queen bed, one with a double bed, and one with two twin beds). The focal point of this floor is the gorgeous stone fireplace. The large second-floor studio living area offers views the surrounding pines. Throughout you’ll find unique period details and furnishings.
The cottage is located on Summer Hill on the quieter south end of Bailey Island and is within walking distance of many island attractions: rocky beaches, Oceanside, Giant Staircase, and Land’s End Gift Shop. The historic Cribstone Bridge and Cook's Lobster House are all within a mile or so of the cottage.
Explore nearby islands and peninsulas by car or boat. Kayak rentals and lessons are available just across the Cribstone Bridge at H20 Outfitters on Orr's Island, and the Casco Bay Line offers daily cruises down the bay from Cook's Lobster House.
Additional activities: Freeport outlet stores - including LL Bean's flagship store - the Brunswick Music Theater, museums, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and several golf courses are within an easy 30 to 40-minute drive off the island.
