Casa Pierpaoli was purchased in the 60's by my parents as a ruin and built in the 80's completely typical eolianisch cubic-style by a famous Roman architect largely true to the original.
The house consists of two floors with spacious rooms and a big change. We keep the house constantly, so that all facilities are up to date.
Casa Pierpaoli is at the end of the quiet village part Piscità in a side street and has on its back on a short tunnel direct beach access to one of the most beautiful beaches of Stromboli, the 'spiaggia lunga'.
The ground floor has a large kitchen with integrated dining area for up to 10 people, a 2-er bedrooms and a bathroom with a bathtub. All rooms are designed so that one or on both sides of doors, Open windows and thereby regulate the house temperature can well (the 'eolianische air conditioning'). From the kitchen is accessed via a staircase to the upper floor in a large living room with sea views, a fireplace and a TV. To the right is a second bedroom with 2's the same plan as the one on the ground floor. Both the living room and the bedroom have a small balcony. Next to it is the original small kitchen with two original, heated with wood, pizza ovens. The kitchen also has a sink with water heater that you can use as a laundry facility. Otherwise, the kitchen is used as storage space.
From the living room leads a second door in an office with a bunk bed for 1-2 persons. This room has a very pretty and covered porch. From the office leads to a third large bedroom with double bed and adjoining semi-circular bathroom with shower. The master bedroom also has a small terrace, from where you can walk down a staircase to a large space on the ground floor behind the house. We use this space with brick bench and large umbrella as a dining area. Prior to the kitchen on the other side of the house in front of the main entrance there is a second dining area with pergola and brick corner seat.
The house also has a magazine for ship supplies and accessories, from which you can reach through a short tunnel to an enclosed space with separate shower. Through a door leads directly to the beach.
Although the flat roofs can be used by stairs theoretically terrace, we advise guests their use for security reasons urgently. The roof is not backed up.
A highlight in the garden is a palm grove consisting of six large manicured palm trees forming a shaded area of about nine square meters. There is always delightfully fresh and you can laze on hammocks.
Above the house is a very large garden with many plants, a fig tree, grape, orange and lemon trees. The property extends to a winding road that leads to the volcano.
Water and power supply:
Stromboli has no drinking water sources. Therefore, collected rainwater on the roofs and directed into several cisterns. We have three tanks on the property. In addition, a water transport ship of Sicily regularly brings water that is pumped into the tanks. Nevertheless, you should be sparing with the water. To keep the pressure in the pipes constant, the pumped from the tank water is passed through an autoclave. In order to produce hot water, the house has three boiler.
The power supply to Stromboli was only introduced in the 80's. Stromboli has a coal power plant.
Cooked with gas, which is brought by large gas bottles. The house also has a washing machine. Because of the scarcity of water on the island but it is not recommended to use it often.
The living room has a TV with satellite channels. A WiFi operation is installed on the 2015 season.
The village of Stromboli is an idyllic place with its whitewashed cube houses, narrow streets, the flowering bougainvillea, oleander and Hibiscuspflanzen, fig trees and cactus and a view of the black sand beach and lava rocks.
Stromboli has a variety of restaurants, bars, boutiques, souvenir shops and grocery stores, a butcher, "Tabacchis", an outdoor cinema, a library and a disco.
In the deep blue sea you can swim and snorkel in the village you can also rent boats and kayaks. It also has a diving club where you however long must book in advance.
There are island tours and boat rides to the second Village and Ginostra Strombolicchio rock the house, a former volcano. Also, there are organized hikes on the volcano.
Very nice is a visit to the pizzeria in the "observatory" where you can experience the regular eruptions of Crater live at nightfall.
