We are located in a quaint, functioning, Victorian town just 1 block from the historic downtown with shopping, dining, and museums. The rental comprises the 2nd and 3rd floors of the historic 1875 Mercantile Building. We are able to offer part of the space for a reduced rate if your party is less than 10! See our rates below for these different options. The first floor is home to the Rocky Mountain Miniatures retail store and the Dusty Rose Tea Room, a Victorian style tea room offering over 30 different teas and home made delicacies for lunch or tea.

Our guests are many times surprised by the spaciousness and cleanliness of the facility. We have spent a lot of time and effort to come up with the perfect blend of the modern and the old. The updated kitchen and bathrooms have slanted floors that creak and irregularly shaped doors. The furniture, a mixture of antiques and the new, had to be carefully measured to make it up the steep, narrow, grooved from use, stairs. The high ceilings and large rooms lend themselves to a feeling of being able to spread out.

The layout of the rooms offer a wonderful amount of privacy. Not only is there a table in the dining room (96' long - perfect for games, puzzles, and family gatherings), but another in the kitchen (for those intimate early morning or late night chats.) The bedroom with the king size memory foam bed is located in the northwest corner of the second floor (next to the main bathroom.) The other bedroom on this floor is located in the northeast corner and has a double bed, a day bed, and a single trundle bed. The third bedroom is located on the third floor, has dorners (for that Victorian feel), a queen bed with pillow-top mattress, and an attached bathroom.

We are a smoke free and pet free facility.

Children and families really enjoy staying here. The space if full of nooks and crannies, and we have not over-decorated so there are few things that parents need to worry about getting broken. We have a supply of games, old-time movies and even a doll house.

You may wake up to the scent of fresh scones, meat pies, lemon curd, and tea! Visit our website for the Dusty Rose Tea Room.

After 12 years of offering very short term rentals, on January 1, 2017 we will only be offering 30 day minimum stays. We have all the same offerings (fully furnished, heat, electric, water, garbage, T.V. and internet all included) for your extended get-away stay.

About Jeannette Peterson

I have resided in Georgetown since 1999, previously having had the opportunity to travel throughout the Americas and Spain. Chris joined me in 2003 and while running The Dusty Rose Tea Room, Rocky Mountain Miniatures and the Historic St. James Vacation Rental, have been able to continue our travels - to include Asia and the Middle East, as well as Europe and the western hemisphere. We appreciate the tranquility and the small town life in Georgetown. We especially enjoy sharing this with our guests who come to stay with us at the Vacation Rental.

We wanted to provide a base camp, so to speak, for the group, allowing each to do what they enjoy. Come write that book you have been wanting to write, take some "down" time from your hectic life, and rejuvenate.

What makes this apartment unique

The facility is quiet and centrally located in an historic district of a small town. Nearby are year-round fishing opportunities, skiing, snowboarding, ATVs, river rafting, hiking, horseback riding, shopping, museums, restaurants, and a general small town feel. In the rental we provide books, puzzles, games, and local interest information. Perfect for your extended escape from life.

We can rent for 2 people (one bedroom and all the living space,) 4-6 people (2 bedrooms and all living space,) or 8 people (3 bedrooms and all living space.) Rated accordingly:

1 bedroom $1,600 per month, 2 bedrooms $1,800 per month and 3 bedrooms $2,100 per month.

Thank you for visiting our web-site and our guest book. My husband and I recently purchased this property and have tried to make it as comfortable as possible for your stay. The previous owners lived in this apartment for 27 years and raised two children. This tells you that the space is comfortable and inviting; large, while at the same time cozy.



Children are always thrilled with the way it "goes on and on." They are also fascinated with the idea of living over a store - "just like Little House on the Prarie." Adults are reminded of "my grandmother's house on the farm." With the full-size updated kitchen, washer and dryer, and two updated bathrooms, you will settle in for a relaxed, old-time holiday with all the modern conveniences.

Cozy and charming

Charming, Warm, Cozy, Comfortable, PERFECT!

We absolutely LOVED staying here! We went up for Georgetown's Christmas Market and Jeannette's place was the perfect compliment to the Old Fashion Christmas atmosphere!! Her place is warm and cozy with the Christmas tree and Christmas lights she has up. Everything was clean and comfortable and both she and Chris made us feel so welcome! The scones she brought up were soooo good! The Dusty Rose Tea Room (also owned by Jeannette) below provides wonderful smells drifting up to us as we woke up! And eating there we were not disappointed! So Good!!! Thanks Jeannette for a wonderful time and a great place to stay!! Plan to see us again!!!

Wonderful Stay

We have met family and stayed here once or twice a year for at least 11 years. The sweet, friendly care of the owners, the delightful antiques and old pictures, and the space to visit make the apartment perfect. The meat pies and scones with lemon curd and clotted cream are remembered all year. We love being only a block from downtown Georgetown with great shopping, food, events. There are lots of mountain events nearby. Thanks, Jeanette and Chris

Great Getaway!

This was a great location! It was very easy to find, comfortable and the owner was a pleasure. The apartment was very spacious and we had everything we needed. Downtown Georgetown was just a short walk away (one block) for sightseeing and shopping. The best part about his location is The Dusty Rose Tea Room downstairs. We made reservations for High Tea for lunch and everything was delicious! This was a great find and we plan to book this in the future.

Great Getaway!

This is a wonderful place to stay. The owners are so friendly and gracious. The accommodations were very comfortable and we had more than enough room. It was nice having our own kitchen and living room for added comfort. The tea room downstairs was so nice, everything they served was delicious! This was the perfect getaway for friends!

Jeannette is a great host - Wow amazing scones

We stayed for 4 nights over Labor Day Weekend as our friends were getting married at the Hammill House! The apartment is right in the middle of town within walking distance to all of the restaurants and night life. Jeannette was a great host.

Bonus - She had a box of building blocks for my young son to play with!
