About Clara D.

My husband and I grew up in different parts of the world, but share the same views about what we like. We enjoy outdoor activities in the mountains including hiking, biking and skiing; and also have a passion for dancing, music and art. Why Clara D. chose Arizona

We believe this is an ideal location, close to town without the hassle of noise and traffic, located on top of a hilly neighborhood nestled in pine forest. It is also is centered between Sedona and the Grand Canyon. We can plan day trips or enjoy what Flagstaff has to offer. We love our neighborhood, which with find picturesque and very unique. National Forest access point are within 1 mile.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Clara was an amazing host, part of our group arrived prior to us and had no difficulties with obtain the keys she had left for us. All of us were happy to find the driveway clear of snow since Flagstaff had received plenty of snow the weekend prior to our stay. It was also pleasant that Clara left us many manuals showing how to use certain features of the house. She also was easy to reach by text if we had any questions. The kitchen is stocked with essentials such as dinner ware along with some basic cooking supplies (we also left some too). The bathrooms also came stocked with soap and plenty of towels. While we unfortunately didn't have enough time to use the hot tub or stove we did play many games of pool. The property is everything we could've asked to make our trip memorable!

Great place for families!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this cabin for a four day weekend with our two kids- ages 1 and 3. Packing was simple because a full size crib, booster seats, play mat, and lots of toys and children's movies were already included in the cabin! The kids LOVED playing with the new toys and having a fenced play space in the backyard. My husband and I loved the hot tub after the kids went to bed! It was so relaxing and quite an experience to sit in a 102 degree hot tub when it's 29 degrees outside and snowing!!

The owner was very accommodating easy to work with and she's really done a nice job and making you feel right at home in the cabin. It's terrific to have all the comforts of home - including cable and internet, which a lot of places don't have.

We traveled in February of 2010 and had quite a snowstorm come through! We loved seeing the large snowflakes fall and seeing all the trees covered in white! The kids had never seen so much snow, so it was very exciting for them. We were able to do lots of sledding and build a large snowman in the backyard with the provided snowman making kit.

We will keep this place at the top of our list for future northern Arizona stays and would love to come back with the grandparents now that we know there is plenty of space for a large family and tons of amenities!

Thanks!

Tamie & family

Perfect place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house. It was very clean which is always at the top of my list. It was so roomy which is important when we have 4 adults and two teens and everyone needs their own space. The local people were very friendly and helpful every where we traveled. I never felt like a tourist because the locals make you feel like an "invited guest". We flew into Phoenix and rented a car. From this house, we visited the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Petrified Forest, the impact crater, Lowell Observatory, Montezuma's Castle and too many other places to mention. What a beautiful area; words cannot describe it. The kids loved the ping pong table, pool table and especially the hot tub. After an exhausting day of sightseeing, the hot tub was great and the coolness of the evening air made it even more inviting. The wifi worked great, there were many TV's, we never ran out of hot water, and as southerners, it was great to sleep with the windows open in August and enjoy the cool night air. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, central location for your trip to the Grand Canyon area this house is great. Clara is wonderful to work with and always answered my email questions almost immediately. It was an awe inspiring vacation and this house is the perfect place to call home while taking it all in.

Fabulous stay!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Clara's house......can't say enough about the accommodations and HUGE luxurious kitchen! Anything & everything you need is there in the kitchen....just bring some food! House was also very clean, great views from the deck, lotsa light from big windows.

One tip, though; there are a lot of dogs in the neighborhood, some left outdoors at night....so expect some barking during late hours. One trick to drown out the noise is to just plug in one of the portable fans in your bedroom (Clara seems to have everything covered!)....we slept great after that :)

Big thanks to Clara for sharing her wonderful place.

Great, fun and feels like home!!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed several times at the Nakai Chalet. We really enjoyed ourselves at this place. This place is big, spacious, clean and it has all the amenities you need, want and more. We enjoyed the hot tub while others grilled in the new BBQ. There are a lot of games to play and for all ages. Our family loved playing ping-pong and pool. The chalet is conveniently close to the freeway, 10 minutes away from downtown. Clara, the owner, made everything easy and stress free and she has put so much thought into every detail.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Nakai Chalet. Everyone had a great time. Played many games of pool and ping pong. Would love to come back in the winter. Very clean and had everything we needed. Spent one day at Bearizona, which I highly recommend and another day at the Grand Canyon. If you are thinking of staying here, don't waste anymore time thinking about it. Do it! You will be very happy.

My Home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

My family has stayed at the Nakai Cabin several times. We always look forward to our stay at this wonderful cabin. I have a young adult daughter, a teenaged son and my youngest is 8. She learned to ski at 4 years old at a local ski camp. My eldest daughter claims her "private space" in the loft, to read her novels. My son is the commander of the pool/ping pong table. I absolutely love to cook in this kitchen. It is so lovely done with every appliance and cooking essential I need. On grilling nights I love to sit in the hot tub and watch my husband man the grill.

The house inside and out is so well decorated and comfortable. I have been considering a sleep number bed and the master bedroom has one! The couches are nap worthy and plenty of room for family game night! The yard is huge and the decks are amazing.

The owner has thought of everything in the "white binder". From trouble shooting the electronics to the best local hikes. It's a HUGE binder. It will takes us 10 visits to experience it all! Skiing, Grand Canyon downtown Flagstaff...you can count on us coming again and again!
