"Beautiful!" The house is very well maintained. The location, view, fireplace, and decor give it a rustic charm. We look forward to another fall weekend getaway here!"

We adored the stay in this cabin! When we arrived it was perfect--so clean & mountain festive. I sent many emails with questions and they were all answered promptly and patiently. I highly recommend this cabin!
A lovely log cabin with all the amenities. Beautifully maintained and decorated. Just finished a weeks vacation with 4 adults and 2 children. The pontoon boat was great. Spent most of our time cruising the lake, fishing in Paradox Wilderness and swimming at the town docks. Tim and Rebecca are very helpful and prompt about anything you need to know about the area or the house. Enjoyed sitting outside at night with a conservative fire in the stone pit. The basement with air hockey, ping pong, and darts provided a change in activities from the outside. The red barn driveway could be problematic for 2 wheel drive cars even with traction control. Need enough momentum to take you past the first gradient. The propane tank driveway is strictly 4wd only. This was a great family vacation.
The house is very clean, well maintained, has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The owner is extremely helpful and easy to work with. My family enjoyed staying here and hopes to come back soon.
One thing to keep in mind, as the owner will explain as well, the drive to the house is difficult. When the snow and ice rain fell, we had a lot of trouble getting up the hill in our 4x4 truck. If you are renting keep that in mind (for winter season of course). Otherwise no complains, we are very happy to have visited! Thank you!
The cabin and the owners are absolutely great! We were here for Christmas for just a few days and were able to enjoy the wonderful view from the deck all day due to the very warm December weather. The indoor fireplace was spectacular and we were able to enjoy the outdoor fire pit as well. There were board games and a ping pong table which were a great plus.
The driveway is quite difficult, we had a Prius and a VW Passat which made it up the first/easier driveway but had a little struggle, definitely have some speed built up in order to get passed the first uphill climb. Not sure if these would have been able to make it up with any sort of snow, rain or ice. The seclusion made it that much better!
We ate at Sticks and Stones for our Christmas Eve dinner and then cooked our Christmas dinner at the cabin. There weren't any large serving bowls but we managed. The town of Schroon is very quaint and nice. There were a few shops open for the holiday so a quick stroll through town was perfect. We would definitely rent again. Thank you Rebecca and Tim
The Barnards Schroon Lake log cabin has everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect for day visits to Schroon Lake, as well as a leisurely ride on their pontoon boat, or possibly a ferry ride to Burlington, Vermont and, of course, Lake George just to mention a few highlights of our stay. Our favorite restaurant was Sticks & Stones - the food was excellent a the live music provided was very entertaining. The Barnards' log cabin home was very clean and well-maintained. We loved sitting outside in the evenings surrounding the fire pit while toasting marshmallows and sharing good conversation. Tim Barnard was extremely helpful in every possible way - before, during, and after departing the rental. We would definitely recommend this property to all. Helpful tip: the steep road to the cabin is a bit challenging. If you don't have a 4x4 vehicle - as we did not - be sure to give your vehicle a lot of gas and continue to do so until you get to the top of the road which leads you to the log cabin. ENJOY!
Owners were easy to work with. Cabin was large, very clean, new had all you could want. Weather was perfect - boat was a highlight. And, the very best part - having our dogs with us to enjoy the woods and water. We will definitely come back!
