THIS PROPERTY TRULY IS A MAGICAL PLACE. THE WILDLIFE WAS SPECTACULAR. THIS AREA IS A DEER PRESERVE SO EVERYDAY WE HAD DEER WALKING THROUGH THE PROPERTY. THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL BALD EAGLES THAT LIVE IN THE TREES ABOVE, SO WE WERE ABLE TO SEE THEM ALMOST EVERY DAY. THE FISHING OFF THE DOCK WAS VERY GOOD, MY WIFE AND I PROBABLY CAUGHT A DOZEN OR SO IN A FEW HOURS. THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL WILD TURKEYS AND SOME CANADA GEESE THAT CAME AROUND. THE CABIN WAS ALSO INCREDIBLE, WITH EVERY AMENITY YOU COULD WANT OR NEED. THE KITCHEN WAS ALSO FULLY STOCKED WITH EVERYTHING YOU COULD IMAGINE. THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. THE CABIN IS LOCATED NEAR THE SMALL COMMUNITY OF HOPE ON A PENINSULA. YOU DRIVE THROUGH THE SAM OWEN CAMPGROUND (WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL) TO GET TO THE CABIN. ITS ABOUT 25 MINUTES TO SANDPOINT WHICH IS ALSO A BEAUTIFUL DRIVE. THIS TRULY WAS A VERY MEMORABLE VACATION AT A VERY SPECIAL PLACE THAT IS OWNED AND MANAGED BY WONDERFUL WARM PEOPLE. I CANNOT IMAGINE ANYPLACE BETTER TO SPEND A NICE RELAXING VACATION THAN HERE AT THE CABIN ON THIS INCREDIBLE LAKE SURROUNDED BY PINE TREES AND WILDLIFE GALORE. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING HERE ON OUR NEXT TRIP TO NORTH IDAHO.
This is simply the most ideal place to spend a summer holiday in the world. Warm weather warm water and warm hospitality. Lisa if you read this, we would like to book same two weeks next year please. This place is simply heaven.
I cannot possibly describe this amazing house and property in 2500 characters or less. This was THE BEST family vacation we've EVER had! We rented the home during the week of Fourth of July 2012. There were six of us, and the bedroom arrangements suited us perfectly. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom in the main house, and our four adult children stayed in the adjoining bunkhouse - boys in one room (with the bunk bed) and the girls in the other room (with the queen beds).
The home is beautifully furnished and supplied, the owners have thought of everything! We were so comfortable and happy, and we LOVED cooking in the kitchen & outdoor BBQ. The appliances were modern, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything necessary for cooking, serving and cleaning. There was DirecTv, DVD, Bose Stereo w/CD, movies, games, interesting books, they really thought of everything. Bedroom and bath linens were very nice. Washer/dryer with detergent was nice too. We brought our own beach towels. We had Verizon cell reception down near the boat dock, but no AT&T reception.
The property is absolutely amazing. The home is on the Peninsula, which does not allow hunting, so the deer are EVERYWHERE, they come right up to the house. The home is situated above the lake with AMAZING views. The gazebo was a favorite place to sit and admire the view from too. The green grass goes all the way down to the water. There is a terrific deck built down near the water, and furnished with chairs, tables, and chaise lounges. There is a huge sun umbrella on the grass, and a magnificent fire ring. The area between the grass and the water is rocky, but they have steps going into the water, so you don't have to walk on the rocks to get in the water. This was really nice for kayaking and stand-up-paddle boarding (which we rented locally). We conveniently moored our rental boat each night just minutes away at Beyond Hope Marina. The peninsula is great for jogging and bicycling too (also available for rent locally).
It's about a 20-25 minute drive to Sandpoint, and about 10 minutes to Clark Fork. We boated to Sandpoint one day, docked at the public docks, and spent the day shopping and eating. Another day we boated to the other lake towns. But we most enjoyed waterskiing, tubing, knee boarding kayaking, and paddle boarding right in front of the house, where everyone in our group could watch and enjoy. We cannot wait to go back!
