Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-8)

If you've been surfing Gardiner, Mt on VRBO, you have got to be asking yourself: What is with all these cloned cabins? Let me explain. My cabin and the others were part of the former Yellowstone River Resort. The resort was initially built in 2000 to provide lodging and meals for the Elderhostel programs in and around Yellowstone National Park. In 2005, the owners offered the cabins for sale to individuals. The majority were purchased as rentals or second homes. The exteriors and floor plans are the same. For the most part, it is only the decor that varies and perhaps a few gizmos.

My cabin (#11) is the only one locally owned and operated. As such, I am able to offer significant savings over my neighbors (as much as $10-$40/night) depending on the time of year. The cabin is set off a bit from the other original cabins and is oriented for the mountains views. You can Google Earth the place at 45 degrees 04' 16.65" N 110 degrees 46' 24.31" W (no airstrikes, please). I maintain the cabin personnally and make myself available to answer questions and provide information to help you make the most of your stay. In return, you supplement my livelihood. I trust that this will always be a fair trade.

Regardless of whether you stay at my place, my neighbors' or elsewhere in the Gardiner area, you are well positioned to explore Yellowstone. As a tourist, fly fisherman or an attendee of the educational programs offered by the Yellowstone Association, the North Entrance provides the best gateway to the Grand Loop and Yellowstone's most sought after features.

For further information on me and my place, refer to the link to my website. For information on lodging providers (some not necessarily on VRBO), you also may want to check with the Gardiner Chamber of Commerce.

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was nicely appointed. We were satisfied with just about everything. The 2 bedrooms with private bath was great. The mattresses were a bit hard for me and the pillows terribly flat. Of course that is all personal preference. Missed having a washer and dryer but hopefully that is coming soon. We would definitely recommend this cabin and would return ourselves.

The road to the cabin is a bumpy gravel road. But traveling that road you always saw Pronghorn and Elk. Wouldn't want to miss that.

GREAT PLACE to STAY.

Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is as advertised. It is like having two motel rooms inside one house each with 2 queen beds and each having a bathroom. One of the rooms is handicap accessible which was not a problem for a non-handicap person. The kitchen has enough things in to allow for cooking. You can walk down to the river and there is a place for a fire there to toast marshmallows or hot dogs. The cabin is close to Gardnier MT and the north entrance of Yellowstone. We saw prong horn, elk and a Great Horned owl on the road between the cabin and Gardiner. The owner is very friendly and responsive. He knows a lot about the area. If you have questions you should ask him. I would rent here again if I have the chance to go to Yellowstone again.

Perfect choice!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our Yellowstone adventure! We were greeted by elk and pronghorns out on the gravel road as we ventured toward the cabin...and then elk grazed right in our front yard each morning. One evening as I sat at the table, one walked right by the window! The cabin was well supplied, and very comfortable...and the perfect location to enter activities through the north gate. We were so glad we found this wonderful cabin!

Perfect cabin for a family!

  • 5 of 5

We just stayed 5 nights at Wades cabin and loved every minute. Was traveling with three late teen boys and the cabin and area was great for everyone. Cabin is very clean and furnished with everything you need. We will definitly stay here again when we are visiting Yellowstone. Have no worries about this property!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

This is our last night at Wade's little piece of mountain paradise. We have stayed at several Homeaway vacation rental properties and Wade's cabin is probably the best appointed of any. The furniture, kitchen appliances, and cabin itself are top notch. He has provided just about every thing you need to cook a meal short of the groceries. Laundry facilities are convenient - he even provides the laundry detergent and the quarters for the commercial machines.

This is our third time at Yellowstone, but first time in the fall. Our first day we were greeted with 6" of snow - absolutely beautiful. For Texans, the snow was a special treat. My brother and his wife are traveling with us this being their first time to Yellowstone.

The cabin has been perfect - both couples having their own bedroom and bath. I would definitely recommend this cabin for a family or two couples.
