The apartment is located in a sunny location in Pozzale di Cadore, a sheltered from the tourist bustle picturesque little village of around 1,000 meters altitude, in the heart of the Dolomites, which since 2009 World Heritage Site by Unesco. A tip!
The apartment is very quiet, cozy attic apartment on the second Floor with a nice view of the mountains and has a spacious balcony.
The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, sink, washing machine and all necessary utensils.
One of the bedrooms has a double bed, the other two beds that can be set up separately. A folding mattress offers a place to sleep for an additional guest.
Separate from the bathroom (shower), the toilet, each with wash basin.
Pozzale is a district of Pieve di Cadore, birthplace of Titian (10 minutes walk). In the village there is a very good restaurant, a bakery, a supermarket, a post office, a bar, a kiosk.
Pieve di Cadore is a town and the administrative center of towns to the west to Cortina d'Ampezzo and eastwards to Auronzo (17 km) lined up in the Cadore valley.
From Pozzale excellent walks and breathtaking climbing are easy to reach. Pozzale is one of the stages in the Dolomites High Routes 4 and 5. FIG. Also the bike path 'Lung via delle dolomite' passes there. In winter, the town is located in the center of ski slopes of the highest class; not least because of its proximity to Cortina d'Ampezzo, which in 1956 hosted the Winter Olympic Games.
More 'snow activities': snowshoeing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing (cross-country trails directly from Pozzale off).
Should Pozzale or Pieve are no snow, so there from early December to late March in the immediate vicinity of guaranteed snow slopes Cortina d'Ampezzo, S. Vito (cheaper), Sappada, Auronzo and Santo Stefano.
Best time for hiking: May, June and September.
For history buffs about: the beginning of the first World War 100 years. Around Pozzale / Pieve and in the Cadore valley there are numerous memorials / open-air museums, etc., for the first World War.
