Sedona Cliff House - Clean & Contemporary

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 4 nights

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Arizona

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 5)

This comfortable, contemporary home is located in one of Sedona's most stunningly beautiful areas. If you're looking for quiet solitude, you'll find it here -- yet all the restaurants and services of Sedona are just a three-mile drive away.

This contemporary home has simple elegance with excellent flow, having been designed in consultation with feng shui master Valmai Howe Elkins. Completed in 2006, it won the 'People's Choice' for best house on the Sedona Art and Architecture Tour that year.

The entire house has great natural light, no matter what time of year you stay. Winter sunlight streams through southern windows, and summer patios are shaded and cool with natural ventilation. This is a green passive solar home built with ultra low voc materials, and also features ample conventional heating/cooling systems.

Downstairs you'll enjoy an open plan living room/dining room with 12-foot high ceilings and comfortable leather sofas. A gorgeous modern kitchen features all stainless steel appliances and stone countertops, as well as a separate wine bar. Throughout this main living area you'll find engineered maple hardwood floors, hand-made wool rugs, Italian leather sofas and HD satellite video. There's also a guest room downstairs with full bath, perfect for the visitor who requires additional privacy.

Upstairs you'll have your pick of two large master suites. Each comes with its own large deck, queen size bed, full bathroom and walk-in closet. The western suite has its own private entrance, small kitchenette, and large Roman style soaking tub. The eastern suite includes a very private outdoor bathtub with full view of the red rock bluff, which is part of the unique property.

About Glendon Good

Hi, my name is Glendon and I have been a resident of Sedona for 16 years. Having lived in many places in my life, including Los Angeles, San Francisco and internationally, I can truly say that Sedona is a unique and magical place. So when I discovered this amazing property, complete with its own gigantic red rock, I knew this was the place to build my dream house. I currently live next door to the house with my two chocolate labradors, Charlie and Coko. I am an artist specializing in creating high-end functional art and sculptures. I enjoy hiking and running the trails in and around Sedona.

Why Glendon Good chose Arizona

Sedona is an astonishingly beautiful place to be. Living here is akin to camping in nature where wildlife and nature abound, yet with most of the amenities I enjoy such as good restaurants, supermarkets and coffee houses. Sedona is truly a spectacular place.

What makes this house unique

This property is located in a special area of Sedona along Red Rock Loop Road. Originally this was one of the first areas to be homesteaded and farmed in the 1800's. Today there is a delightful mix of luxury homes among farms and working ranches. Nearby, the creek rolls through the red rocks providing a rich contrast between the lush green pastures and dramatic red rocks. Excellent hiking trails out the door take you to high ridgetops with views of Cathedral Rock, Thunder Mountain and the vast National forest. Cool off with a dip in the creek and explore its natural beauty.

Absolutely incredible! Can't wait to go back!!

  • 5 of 5

A perfect place to stay in an amazing landscape. Even better than the pictures (which is hard because they're pretty fabulous). Great hiking out the door, close to Sedona, serene and gorgeously landscaped property. The home itself is warm, comfortable, and beautifully modern. Our two sons (12, 16) spent a lot of time wandering the multitude of decks surrounding the home and hanging out in the hammock. My husband loved the outdoor bath. The views from every window are incredible. A true gem!

Really great place!

  • 5 of 5

Our family came to stay at the Sedona Cliff house for four nights during Spring Break. The house is comfortable, beautiful, and in a great area close to mountain biking and hiking as well as shops and restaurants. We had a hard time leaving! Thank you Glendon for sharing your beautiful house with us!

Restorative and Fun

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time hiking, soaking up the sunshine, and marveling at the beauty of those red-rock cliffs. What an amazing, ancient-feeling landscape!

Your rental home was perfect for my 98-year-old mom and the rest of us. I especially appreciate the well-stocked kitchen and the proximity to all of those great trails. We finally made it to the top of one of the higher buttes our last day there (thanks to the helpful tips you gave us). All in all, a fabulous trip - restorative and fun!

A Fantastic Experience!

The Sedona Cliff House is one of a kind. Nestled next to a cliff wall, you are surrounded by red rock and great views in all directions. The house is a spacious, fabulously designed structure that has so many well thought-out features you will continue to be amazed as you explore the property. Glendon, the designer, builder and owner provides you with not only a gem of a house, but is a gracious source of information regarding Sedona and hikes in the local area. This house provides a singular experience to access all that Sedona has to offer.

Great house, great location

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Sedona and we couldn't have chosen more wisely than the Sedona Cliff House. The location was ideal. With little light pollution we could see the stars at night and enjoyed the quiteness, yet it was a short scenic drive to Sedona. We were also able to hike right from the house without having to drive anywhere. The house was not a typical rental. It was clearly a labor of love for Glendon and it showed with a lot of attention to detail in the design of the home and how well he maintains it. We felt very comfortable there and spent a lot of time just hanging out at the house. Glendon was right next door, which was the best of both worlds. He was a great host, quickly available to answer any question we had and yet the home still felt very private. We only crossed paths when he was out walking his 2 chocolate labradors. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful home in a beautiful location.

Beyond Expectations

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not do this house justice. A beautiful and unusual house set in a spectacular environment. The architecture of the house takes advantage of the beautiful scenery on all sides. The house is equipped far better than most rentals and the owner was very helpful. This was a girlfriends getaway and we all loved it. Great area for walking or hiking and oh the stars at night!

This contemporary home is located in an exquisite rural setting 3 miles from downtown Sedona. It is a quiet location where the sounds of birds are often the loudest things heard. If you enjoy the outdoors, hiking, bicycling, running and breathing in the natural beauty, then you will likely enjoy this special place.
