This 750sqft apartment is located on 3rd floor (2nd French floor) of a XIXth century building in Northern Marais, a few steps away from the charming Square du Temple and 2 blocks away from the famous rue de Bretagne and its amazing open air market. Fully equipped, this 2 BR/2BA can sleep up to 6 persons, with 2 queen size beds and a very comfortable sofa bed in the living room.
The apartment contains a bright and large living/dining room with a fully equipped open kitchen, and two bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom or shower room. One of the bedroom can be fitted with one queen size bed or two single beds, depending on your needs.
The entire apartment has been newly remodeled in Winter 2008 with careful attention to restore the apartment's original features (parquet floor, moldings, high ceilings) while at the same time providing all modern amenities and conveniences. It has been professionally decorated with a mix of modern comfortable furniture and some carefully chosen French antiques.
The living room area is equipped with a very comfortable (and easy-to-handle...) sofa bed. A splendid 'meuble de metier' found at the flea market can be used as a desk when checking your emails or writing some postcards... Cable TV (with CNN International and BBC World among others) and DVD player, hidden in another elegant antique piece of furniture, are also available in the living room.
Our large dining table can easily welcome 8 to 10 people, which will enable you to have friends coming over for dinner !
The first bedroom, overlooking the street, is nevertheless quiet as traffic at night is close to zero... It is equipped with large built-in closets, a queen size bed, antique nightstand and has an en-suite shower room.
The second bedroom, overlooking the building courtyard, is also equipped with large built-in closets, a TV and has its own very traditional en-suite bathroom. The beds can be adjusted as a queen size bed or two single beds depending on your needs.
There is high speed wifi, free local calls within France, free calls to cell phones and landlines to the US and Canada, and free calls to landlines in over 200 other countries (please inquire about your particular country). You will find a detailed book of instructions as well as detailed lists/maps of our favorite restaurants and shopping in the neighborhood that is regularly updated so you can navigate the neighbhorhood like a local.
The closest subway station is Republique (line 3, 5, 8, 11) giving you easy access to place de la Concorde, Opera, Bastille, etc.)
A Velib stop is just at the end of the street, on place de la Republique.
Bus lines 20 et 65 (place de la République) will take you in 5 min to the Opera Bastille and in 10 mn to Gare de Lyon.
We provide a free pick-up in the price of the rental, making your arrival very smooth!
If you have young kids, you will really enjoy the vicinity of Square du Temple, just one block away from the apartment.
Two bakeries and a large supermarket are located just 3 mn away from the apartment.
On week-ends, we strongly recommend a stroll in the amazing 'Marche des Enfants Rouges' located on rue de Bretagne, where you will even be able to enjoy a delicious brunch when the weather allows...
In our continual efforts to make your stay as enjoyable and convenient as possible, we are happy to offer our guests our SMARTY phone, which will become your new Parisian best friend!!! Avoid high roaming data costs and enjoy all that technology has to offer-- 4G, unlimited calls (including abroad), and GPS services to make walking around in Paris easier-- all for the rate of 5 euros a day, essentially the cost of a fancy Parisian coffee :) Please let us know upon booking that you are interested so we can reserve a SMARTY for your stay.
I own this apartment and live in the same building, it has been refurbished and furnished in 2009!

Sophie Berdah purchased this apartment in 2009
The Marais is an area that you'll want to visit every time you're in Paris. You'll find so many reasons to go : Centre Georges Pompidou, this amazing designed building with a lot more to offer than just a museum, la Maison Europeenne de la Photographie, a must for contemporary photos exhibits, la Place des Vosges ....
The Marais is also and mainly a place to hang out choosing the right place to have a proper lunch, wandering around the narrow streets and peeking into private courtyard and private mansions
Very close to metro station and at the same time in the heart of the Marais but in a quiet street!!!!!
This apartment was perfect for 2 couples exploring Paris. The location was ideal - easy to walk everywhere to eat or to hop on the metro. We loved the neighborhood. The building was lovely - having this space was so much nicer than 2 hotel rooms could have been. Sophie was always available and gave us good advice. The apartment had a great notebook with instructions and suggested places to go and to eat. Our favorite breakfast spot was just around the corner, Seasons. The complimentary airport pickup was wonderful after a long flight. When we return to Paris, we will stay here again!!
We were a family of 5 including a 3 year-old boy. This apartment was absolutely awesome. We loved it the minute we got into the courtyard. It was such a beautiful building, with high ceilings and those beautiful tall windows. I need to find out what time period was that building from. The living room was spacious and plenty of room for a toddler to run around without bumping into furniture. We loved the kitchen table where we had our wonderful croissant breakfast every morning. The bedrooms and bathrooms were the perfect size. Each bedroom had its own closet, but we felt there was not enough room since one of the closet doors was locked. It would have helped if we had the extra space, but we managed. The bedding was very comfortable and the added bonus of the sofa bed was just great for our family of our size.
The booking process was great from beginning to end. Both Gaela and Sophie were fantastic. The pick up from the airport was really appreciated since we arrived into Paris under a heavy rain. The apartment looks exactly the way you see it advertised. TV in every bedroom and living room (even though, we didn't turn them on). We also used the dishwasher every day and the washer/dry once. Everything worked to perfection.
This area is not only lovely, but there are some many restaurants around it. There is also a beautiful park which was great since we took our grandson there quite a few times. My husband even played Ping-Pong at the park one morning with the local seniors. We were living like the locals. We went to the bakery every morning to buy the fresh baguettes and croissant. There is a book inside the apartment with a lot of recommendation for restaurants and once you start exploring the area, you will come up with your own ones. We were there for six nights and tried five different ones and they were all great. We had no problem with the language since most restaurants in this area speak English. We all loved our stay and wished we had money to buy an apartment in that building and move to Paris. We can only dream!
Wonderful place! Location was great, 15min metro from the Nord Train station. The neighborhood metro is a 3 min walk down the block. the recommended restaurants by the apartment owners were great. All usage of the apartment ammenities were explained clearly, no problems at all. Clean and Spacious, two lovely bathrooms. We all loved our stay!
The location is fantastic! In the heart of the Marais district, great shopping, markets, restaurants and we could get anywhere in the city from where we were. Felt very safe, the apartment looks like it says it does and was very clean and well maintained. My kids loved feeling like we actually lived there and the apartment was bright and cheery. They really thought of everything. The apartment is really special, and we loved the huge windows that opened up to the street. Our family of 5 was very comfortable. I was nervous at first with the pick up at the airport as we came in late but ABSOLUTELY zero issues. What a wonderful touch and spectacular customer service! Thank you thank you for making our visit so special. I've already recommended you to another local family. Except more California visitors!
We enjoyed our stay at this charming apartment. The airport pickup was greatly appreciated! The location was good, near restaurants and shopping but still with a residential feel. The only negatives were, toilet in second bedroom was not private, in that it was right off the living room and no sound barrier. We were disappointed not to find the promised coffee for our first morning. All in all it was a great stay and we would recommend it to friends and family!
We are a family of 4 who stayed here in October for 5 nights and could not have been more pleased with this apartment. First of all, the booking process was so easy and the communication with Gaela was outstanding. We especially loved the video that you watch before you arrive to get yourself acquainted with the apartment before arrival. What a great idea plus we got to have a first-hand look of the apartment before we arrived which got us very excited for our trip.
Pickup at the airport went smoothly and we felt that the transportation being included in our rental made our stay an even better value. Gaela was waiting for us upon arrival and showed us around the apartment. The apartment is quite large with very tall ceilings. We've heard about small apartments and bathrooms in Paris, but this apartment was a good size, perfect for our family of 4 but could have easily fit 2 more people on the couch. We have two daughters so having two bathrooms is a must. Both bathrooms were great and the rainfall shower head in the master bedroom was fabulous! Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The beds and linens were all good quality and the apartment is very quiet with little street noise.
We only used the kitchen for breakfast so we can't comment on the cooktop but it should serve your purposes. There were plenty of glassware, plates, and utensils. We used the washer/dryer a couple of times, washer pods are provided which was nice.
The location of this apartment is excellent. It's located on a quiet and safe street, just a block to Republique and Temple subway lines and 15 minute walk to Place des Vosges. Many restaurants, cafes, and markets close-by. Wifi worked great! We didn't use the TV at all since our daughters were able to stream Netflix on their iPads. Overall, we loved this apartment and would highly recommend it. We would absolutely consider staying here again should we be so lucky to return to Paris one day.
