Stayed at the Green Turtle with my 6 year old daughter for a little trip away to the city. Jon is such a great host! We both had a great stay, I highly recommend it. Convenient to everything. Safe area. Will stay again!
A delightful change of venue.
This was our first time staying in this type of venue, as we usually stay in hotels when we travel. Wanting something a little different, we discovered the Green Turtle. The hosts were very accommodating, check-in was a breeze. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the only thing that was disappointing was the view. There was no view. The only thing we could see was a giant boat parked right beside us. We also could not see the USS Constitution that was pictured, but at least it was in the same harbor. We did enjoy seeing and hearing the jets take off from Logan international airport. We come to Boston all the time, and we definitely enjoyed this unique experience. We also loved that it was just about a 5 minute walk to the North End. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and some cannolis. Great little place.
Had a great time in Boston. Karen made it more wonderful with excellent hospitality.
Harbor oasis in the city
If you are looking for a unique way to enjoy Boston Harbor, a stay at the Green Turtle 1 Houseboat is perfect. This is an oasis, in the city but out of doors, relaxing, and private.
The two suites are separated by a shared entry hallway, each with their own door from the hall.
The Green Turtle is adorable. Karen and Jon are warmly welcoming. They have thought of each detail of information or thing you might want and need during your stay. We had the space, comforts, and amenities of any hotel.
From the Green Turtle, you can spend your evening in the sparkle of city lights on the water while walking the docks to and from your ventures out, or spend it right there on the dock in front the Turtle. Then you wake to enjoying your coffee on the dock in the beauty of a morning on the water with the quiet bustle of boats and birds preparing for the day.
a great escape
My husband and I were coming into the city for some appointments and were hoping to make a night of it. As I began searching through the usual spots I decided to look for something different and unique, and that's when I came across the Green Turtle. When we arrived, all of our expectations were met and exceeded. Jon met us and gave us the rundown on the area, all of the different ways to get over to the city from the Marina (including a free water shuttle just a 7 min walk away), and made us feel very welcome. When we arrived at the BnB Karen greeted us as well, and they continued to give us all of the info. we needed to enjoy our time there. After we got settled, we sat out on the dock and watched the boats go by - the planes taking off - and it was such a peaceful evening. The bed was comfy, the accommodations were as spacious as a large hotel room that rocked ever so slightly ;) If you want to enjoy all that Boston has to offer and end your night sitting on the dock, looking at the stars - this is the place for you. Thank you Karen & Jon for your hospitality! We can't wait to return!
A wonderful place to float
We were in town to see Paul McCartney at Fenway Park. What made our trip even better was being able to stay at Green Turtle B&B. Karen and Jon are not only terrific hosts, they are really good people. Clean quarters, relaxing and the city is easily accessible from the marina.
The Green Turtle I is located in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard. The USS Constitution (Old Ironsides) and the Bunker Hill Monument are a short walk away. They are part of The Boston Freedom Trail.
Boston Garden (TD Bank) is less than a mile from the Green Turtle where you can take in a basketball or hockey game and world class entertainment. There is a free shuttle bus at the end of our street that will take you to this stop which also houses North Station which is part of Boston'subway system.
Boston's North End is just a short distance.
The inner harbor ferry(part of our public transportation) is on pier 4 and is a delightful way to get to Long Wharf which is home to the Aquarium and a few blocks from Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market.
