Quaint Cottage

  • 4 of 5

Nice property overall. Window air conditioning was a bit loud. Sun porch was beautiful. Common areas were spacious with everything we needed. Peaceful location on dead end street. 2 bathrooms with claw foot tubs. 1 has a shower. 3rd bedroom had a king size bed and 3 walls of windows, which was nice. Owners were very nice.

Sister Trip for WLYS

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was beautifully furnished and had all the comforts of home including cable tv, stocked kitchen, beautiful sun porch, deck and plush beds. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and would definitely recommend to others. I would not recommend for older folks due to uneven rocks in courtyard and the claw foot tubs. They were a bit of a challenge for our 82 year old mom. However, this was just our personal situation. Don't let this hinder your decision to stay here. My sisters and I loved this place and the owner and his sister could not have been more gracious. Fresh flowers were awaiting us when we arrived. Gorgeous neighborhood too. Will definitely recommend to friends.

A perfect spot for us

  • 5 of 5

This was a three girls' reunion, and this was the perfect spot for that. Two of the beds were brand new and very comfy. The house is furnished with lovely antiques and such interesting mementos. Its only drawbacks were things like no outlets in the bathrooms for hairdryers and such, something we found a way to work around. The owners were very accommodating. We were there in the spring, and the wooded area behind the house was just full of flowers and bright new green growth. Spectacular! It was too chilly to use either the deck or the porch, but both were very inviting and would be a lovely place to be, weather permitting. We would come back to this little cottage in a heartbeat. Thank you, Chip and Laura, for offering this place for people to enjoy.

Signal Mountain Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My spouse and I needed a place in Chattanooga for a two week work-related trip. We needed a pet-friendly house so we could bring our two adult labs. One of our employees also stayed for several nights.

It was exactly what we needed and what was described on the site - a cozy cottage built in the 1920's. It was very clean and Laura and Chip were great to deal with. The yard is actually bigger than I expected with a nice wooded area to walk the dogs right off the side yard - perfect for our needs.

If you're looking for a cozy get-a-way and you like older homes, this is the place (claw foot tubs, pedestal sinks). If you are a new home person, it may not be. We enjoyed it very much. Thanks, Laura and Chip!

Absolutely CHARMING!

  • 5 of 5

This is a late review as I thought my mother left one and vice versa! Myself, my daughter and my mother were here in June '13. I went to Signal Mountain Elementary School when I was a child and it was like we never left! The house is everything you could want in a mountain cottage. Well supplied, neat as a pin. Lovely china cabinets to gaze into. Nothing high tech or fancy, Just an amazingly well preserved, family cottage. Very clean , with comfy beds. We bought a birdseed bar and sat with the birds on the deck in the mornings. We snapped some great pics! I wanted to sit there in my PJs with my coffee all day! The sun porch is nice if its too chilly on the deck. This cabin is like being in a beautiful mini time warp and is a little piece of Signal Mountain's history.(I played a 1930s radio station on my phone while we drank coffee on the deck) The ladies at the School, which is now an arts center, were happy to show us around and it made my heart happy to see all of their hard work. It will just be my mother and myself this year and we hope to have the privilege of staying here again!

Wonderful cottage and

  • 5 of 5

This was a 3 girls getaway and a wonderful one it was. The cottage is everything the listing description said and more and has not been destroyed by modern upgrades. Very quaint, charming cottage and furnishings in a wonderful neigborhood. We loved the sun room and spent most of our time there. The Japanese maple that fills the window is stunning. Property was clean and owners were very nice and helpful in every way. We would highly recommend this property and we will certainly be back. We only had two nights which is definitely not enough. So many things we did not have time to do.
