The Villa stands watch over a secluded cove on the shores of Lake Wylie. Relax on the veranda to watch recreation watercraft pass by, identify waterfowl and maybe even catch a peaceful glimpse of a deer. Large picture windows with floor to ceiling views bring the magnificence of the outdoors right into the spacious gathering room to enjoy a fireplace and panoramic vistas sunrise and sunset.
The Villa features upscale amenities, a 20 foot barrel ceiling, hardwood floors, 6 ft soaking tub, and double sided fireplace greet you with comfort. Relax on the front or rear veranda to experience the ultimate relaxation.
When you stay at Waters Edge many entertainment choices are only minutes away: US National Whitewater Center, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, The Billy Graham Library, Nascar-Lowes Motor Speedway, Carowinds Theme Park, Blumenthal Performing Arts Theater, Mint Museum of Craft & Design, NBA Charlotte Bobcats, NFL Carolina Panthers, many golf courses, malls, antique shops and fine dining. Yet the peaceful, serene environment at the Villa would never give a hint to the accessibility of so many places to see and things to do.
Oh, we almost forgot, there’s one more thing you might consider doing---absolutely nothing! Because the opportunity to just hang around, kick back, relax and enjoy the renewing experience is unparalleled.

Innkeeper at heart
Melanie Graham purchased this villa in 2008
Secluded cove, nature, peaceful
Very nice place to stay if you want to be in a quiet spot off the beaten path. Good communication
Very impressive property. Nicely maintained. Down a gravel road, so that's a little spooky when arriving after dark. Only complaint was that there was only a 4 cup coffee pot. Should have had a full size coffee pot. Good value. Short drive to Belmont, NC--a very cute small town with some nice restaurants.
Very peaceful, nice sized kitchen with all utensils available. Master bedroom is wonderful. Second bedroom is also nice. Movie theater room is another great addition and a lovely backyard with deck!
Lots of room. Although we didn't spend much time here during the day, it was a very pleasant experience to come back to each evening.
This villa more than exceeded our expectations, it was absolutely fantastic! The Lakeside Villa is an absolutely gorgeous home with a very nice open floor plan. The kids enjoyed a movie in their theater room and I was able to pamper myself by taking a nice bath in the tub. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Everything you could possibly need is provided and just a huge thank you to Melanie for providing this fantastic place.
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. And we had an amazing time. The house is beautiful, but there were a few things that got a tad annoying and honestly had I known about them I probably wouldn't have booked it.
First off the picture of the cinema room is very misleading because the projector wasn't even up anymore, they only had the TV, though they left the screen up behind the TV. The couch in there is also different, its a large L-shaped type of couch that looks like recliners though I could only figure out how to get two of them to work and one was broken. Also the head rests were torn up and looking ratty. There is a small bar in the corner and there is a piece of marble on the counter part that is connected to nothing. Also there was a plug face cover that wasn't even connected, it was lying on the floor next to it. (Both of these seem like major hazards in my opinion)
In the bedroom, the mattress was really comfortable but they put the tiniest of TVs in there and its a large room, you can barely see it if you're in bed (also pretty much the only place to curl up and cuddle while watching a movie in the whole house without being on the floor)
The back of the house has a nice yard but the view is horrible. The water is practically nonexistent, with lots of mud and there is a large, old, crappy looking boat half sunk right off the edge of the property.
Almost every handle and bar in the master bath is not connected properly. While trying to run a bath both of the handles and the faucet were able to be lifted from the surface, plus the towel bar in the shower was wobbly.
And last but not least the house is at the end of a one way, dirt road which means that literally nobody will deliver to you. If you want food make sure you bring it or are willing to go out a lot.
These might seem like little things but they add up to being pretty annoying. Honestly the only reason we had a good time was because it was our honeymoon and we were determined to have fun.
