Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

Enjoy the charm of an authentic Rome apartment!

Located right in the very center of Rome, in a tranquil cobblestone alley of the historic Trastevere area, this newly renovated and refurbished apartment combines the classic Roman charm of exposed original beams with the comfort and style of modern furnishings. This is an ideal typical holiday home to experience a great stay in the eternal city!

The area surrounding the apartment: The luxury suite apartment is situated in the heart of Trastevere, the picturesque medieval area located on the west bank of the Tiber. Part of the historical centre of Rome, Trastevere is the perfect place to glimpse a bit of the old world while still enjoying the lifestyle of today's Romans. From the cobblestone streets to the overhanging laundry lines, senses are pleasantly awakened with every step you take in this bohemian neighborhood.

Vicolo della Torre, where is located the apartment, represents everything mentioned above. It is the most photographed alley of Trastevere and you will feel very proud to have been chosen so popular and central location.

Equidistant from the Coliseum and the Vatican, Trastevere is an ideal place to discover the secrets of Rome on foot. Saint Peter and the Vatican city are about twenty minutes away and upon crossing the Tiber you get to Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, and many other sights, in no time at all (15 to 30 minutes walks). If you want to take public transportation, the area is extremely well served by the electric buses of Rome.

A few blocks from the apartment, you can find the outdoor market of Piazza San Cosimato, where tented booths display a bountiful array of tantalizing fruits and vegetables, or the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, the most popular gathering place in the area. In this square you will find the church Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Rome and very much worth a visit.

The area becomes very lively at night as it is full of trendy bars and dozens of quality restaurants and pizzerias, where you can taste great Italian food at reasonable prices.

If you are looking for a very special accommodation, with all the charm and soul of old Rome yet with all the comfort and convenience of modern amenities, then the Trilussa apartment will surely delight you. Trilussa is the name of a famous Roman poet.

The apartment:

This charming apartment is located on the ground floor of a typical house of 1800 and enjoys a private entrance in additional to the secluded location that makes it not so noisy in a lively neighborhoods. This will allow you to sleep at night, advantage that few holiday rentals can offer in Trastevere.

The house is a confortable little suite, very modern and all renovated, pecfect for a couple or 3 persons of the same family. There is a bed room with a king size bed and a living room with a sofa bed, very well equiped with Tv with a satelite to enjoy your programs all over the world, and wireless internet free and a Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary Italian coffee.

The luxury suite has just come out of a full renovation ( December 2015 ) and represents a quintessential Trastevere apartment. The rustic tile floor and the original ceiling beams bring a delightful sense of Roman history, harmoniously matched by the contemporary colors and elegant furnishings. Guests will feel completely at ease from the moment they walk in, thanks to the captivating and warm atmosphere. The living-dining area of this apartment is welcoming and inviting the guests to relax after trekking around Rome historical centre. In this area you can find a double leather sofa bedt, one single leather sofa, a coffee table and a plasma TV. The open kitchen is fully equipped with everything guests may need for daily living and it features a countertop and two stools to enjoy a breakfast or a dinner.

About Romula Giannotti

My name is Romula and with my husband Claudio we were 32 year owners of a travel agency which is located near the Vatican. That job kept us continually in contact with people for whom we organized travels all over the world. We are fluent in three languages: Italian, French and English, so we can also help you with all of your travel throughout Italy . You can ask our opinion on your stay in Rome or on your trip in Italy, how to divide the days into the differents cities, how to join the different places, how to decide if it is better to go by car or by train, or any other question !!! We just want 2 things :

1) to rent our 2 houses in Rome, the second one is located in the same lane Vicolo della Torre 12, you can visit the site homeaway #3571450

2) that you enjoy your stay in Rome and your trip in Italy !!! Dont hesitate to contact us !!!!

Romula Giannotti purchased this apartment in 2008

Why Romula Giannotti chose Rome

To deversify the tourism activity in a lovely city like Rome, I decided to invest in this tourism concept of vacation rental, trying to give the best of hospitality to our guests for a unforgetable holiday in the heart of the 'Eternel City' Trastevere !

We meet all our guests upon arrival to give them all the explications that they need to enjoy their stay, we offer them our avaibility for each kind of request as buy train tickets, leave their luggage in a little deposit to enjoy their last day in Rome, organize private cooking lessons, private day trips, wine tastings, transfers from and to the airport or the port of Civitavecchia where cruises depart for the Mediterranean, any service that can facilitate their stay in Rome.

What makes this apartment unique

The suite apartment is situated in the heart of Trastevere, very lively at night as it is full of trendy bars and quality restaurants frequented by tourists and Italians too. It is a typical house of the 1800, all renovated inside, located in the most beautifull alley of Trastevere, constantly photographed for its uniqueness. The bedroom is overlooking the courtyard of San Gallicano hospital, today is an historical monument, so my guests can sleep very well without being disturbed by noise that lasts all night in this very special neighbourhour of Rome, especially in summer.

An other benefit is that I have 2 houses in the same lane Vicolo della Torre (www.homeaway.com/228988 and www.homeaway.com/3571450) where 2 couples of friends travelling together can stay in their complete independence while being together.

The suite is in my opinion in one of the best parts in Rome. Why? The centre is filled with the touristic attractions which are main reasons for trips to Rome (and so did we visit them). The attractions are close and we've been able to see about 80% in one day. But then we were looking for those authentic plaza's with restaurants and bars with old fashioned buildings, decorated with plants and flowers, and that is just around the corner in Trastevere! If you like these kind of places, walk out of the Vicolo della Torre, don't head to the centre but go to the left and wander around. You'll find them everywhere (the hardest decision will be which one to pick). The suite has everything you'll need for two persons! It is cosy, warm, it has luxury and a great authentic atmosphere! It welcomes you and absorbes you in a part of Italy instead of a modern looking room which is located in Italy.. And... The owners are just generous for what they offer you compared with their asking costs. They'll help you with anything and make the stay complete for any couple! It's just: Wonderful! For the cultural wandering people, look no further, this is it!

Delightfully charming flat surrounded by history

  • 5 of 5
Verified Stay

We were completely at a loss about a rental location in Rome but what a wonderful surprise when we arrived at this apartment. Located in the Trastivere neighborhood of Rome, this flat is in a perfect location for walking to all the major sites in this ancient city from the Roman forum and coliseum to the Vatican.

Trastivere and the adjoining neighborhoods are alive with cafes, restaurants, bars, and shopping but this apartment is located just steps away from the hustle and bustle tucked into a quiet corner.

Our hosts met us at the apartment and gave us a quick tour of the flat explaining how everything worked. After that formality, we sat down to have a very thorough discussion of the best restaurants and cafés in the neighborhood and markup a map indicating all the sites to see.

The flat itself was just lovely. It had everything we needed and became a cozy retreat when we needed it most.

Cosy,comfortable, quiet

We have chosen this apartment because it was on ground floor as I had a knee problem. It was also very convenient for visiting the Vatican as it was close by . The taxi stand was very close . Plenty of restaurants and cafes(best to ask Romuna for recommendations) around the house gave us a big choice every evening.Famous Gelato shop just across the house was perfect. Due to location apartment was very quiet. It had every amenity needed chosen carefully.

Romula and Claudio have met us on arrival and provided us with very useful information and also a bottle of Prosecco!Very much appreciated.

We would certainly recommend this apartment to friends.

Quiet for Rome

  • 4 of 5
Verified Stay

I booked this apartment as it looked to be a in a quiet location. Apart from Saturday night it was pretty quiet. You can hear the neighbours upstairs and the restaurant storeroom next door but only after about 8:30 am so it is not really a problem. Excellent location for visiting the main sites of Rome on foot. Although there are other pedestrian areas, it would probably be hard to find many other locations to offer both relative peace and convenient situation.

The apartment is adequately equipped and comfortable. The bed is firm and could be a challenge to share with someone heavy or restless as the springs and frame do creak a bit. But there is always the sofa bed. Shame there is no dining table. Maybe a fold up one would be a good idea although there are plenty of local restaurants (not all good so best to take recommendations).

Romula and Claudio meet guests on arrival and provide essential information and advice, which is commendable.

I would certainly recommend the apartment.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your advises. Surely I will change the mattress as soon as possible, although I have hosted guests for the whole month of November that confirmed to me that they slept very well. I understand that opinions may be different but I want to please everyone

Perfect in Every Way!

  • 5 of 5
Verified Stay

Having recently stayed in this apartment for one month...it was perfect in every way. From the moment Claudio and Romula greeted us we were welcomed not just as tourist but as guest in their home. They provided for our every need and were always available should we have any questions. With their knowledge of all things "Roman'" we were in good hands! The apartment is a cozy and comfortable oasis in the heart of very lively Trastevere. The bedroom, situated in the back provided many quiet and restful hours of sleep. Just steps away from the front door you can find food, drinks, and cappuccino.

Thank you, Romula and Claudio, your hospitality comes from the heart! We will be back .

A Presto!

Perfect Apartment for 2 with gracious hosts

  • 5 of 5
Verified Stay

My husband and I had a lovely 3 night stay in this apartment that was made memorable by the gracious hosts, Romula and Claudio. They met us upon arrival and spent over an hour with us to provide maps, dining recommendations, transportation insights, and even a bottle of wine! When I mentioned that the pillows were not as soft as we were used to and we had been a little cool while sleeping, Romula and Claudio showed up with a down comforter and showed us where to find softer pillows-hidden in the sofa bed storage! The apartment itself is well furnished and very comfortable for a couple. As other reviewers have mentioned, Trestavere is a great location, off the beaten path, but you have everything you need and you can walk to most places, or take a short taxi ride. The apartment is in the heart of the action, but located on a quiet side street and we did not have any problems with noise. I highly recommend this wonderful spot-you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic Apartment in the sweet spot of Trastever

  • 5 of 5
Verified Stay

This apartment (Trilussa) was spotlessly clean, cozy, comfortable and well decorated. It is on a very quiet street right in Trastevere but also very close to Campo Di Fiori and the Palatino area. The owner, Romula, was charming and very helpful, she provided us with good recommendations for restaurants and helped with taxis and directions. We will stay here again when we return to rome and we highly recommend it as a fine place to stay.
