Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

The Spotted Grouper is a delightful Old Florida beach bungalow surrounded by twisted Sand Live Oaks. We are located on Bald Point near Panacea, Florida in a small, quiet beach neighborhood along the Forgotten Coast, surrounded by Bald Point State Park.

The house is 100 yards from the Gulf- to get there just walk down Grouper Street to the water, or use the boardwalk behind the house - there are no streets to cross. The fishing is fantastic, as are the local restaurants and seafood markets.

We are located 45 miles south of Tallahassee, 340 miles due south of Atlanta. The Spotted Grouper sleeps 4 with 1 queen bed and 1 double bed. Sheets and towels are provided.

Note that the Spotted Grouper is 'self-cleaning', ie our guests clean the house themselves on departure. All supplies are provided, as is a cleaning checklist.

Recent updates: Pine floors, new carpet, internet.

Beautiful, relaxing place!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place to enjoy nature, the ocean and quiet surroundings. The home has everything you need and more! The owners have thought of everything to make your stay a great one. The local area offers great scenery and good seafood at the restaurants. Everyone in the area was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. We would certainly visit this home again and hope to do so.

Cozy cottage. Nice relaxing walks on beach.

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, slow paced, area. Beautiful sunrises, sunsets. Fishing from the shore can prove bountiful. Watching local fisherman cast nets and seeing crab traps in water illuminates the rich seafood industry.

THE BEST PART OF FLORIDA AND THE BEST PLACE (SPOTTED GROUPER) TO STAY .

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about this place. The views of the sunrises in the morning through the big picture window in the living room are the best. The house is perfect at capturing old Florida, beautiful pine floors, lovely kitchen farmhouse sink, beautiful antiques throughout. If your go in the right time of year humming birds linger outside kitchen window. Wildlife everywhere we had a wild hog that passed through, saw a large pod of dolphins second day we where there, and the kids and I followed a stingray around for awhile. This was the most relaxing vacation I have had in a long time thanks to this place, they have thought of everything you need. The beach was never crowded like other places, and if you want to do some freshwater swimming go to Wakulla springs ( 30 minute drive) it is awesome. If you do go make sure and jump off the high dive( brings back much youth). Joel and Allise are the best owners I have had the pleasure of doing business with. Thanks for the self cleaning option (hope we did good job) it helps out . We loved it here so much we stayed and extra night. Thank you Joel and Allise for everything, and for providing such a wonderful place for us to visit. We hope to see you next year.

The Hewitt family,

Chris, Emily, Zeph, and Vianne

Love the location and the house is just perfect.

  • 5 of 5

The home sits just steps from the Gulf and a nice walk to Bald Point State Park. Our family has been coming to this house for years and we continue to enjoy it. I love cooking in the kitchen especially in the mornings as the sun streams in through the glass door.

The outdoor shower is great convenience and the large screen porch helps especially with children. The washer and dryer are such a plus to make a stay so much easier for the extended stays.

We love the extra touches that come with the house but the great views along with lots of room on the beach make for another great family beach trip.

Great home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our week stay here. A great home away from home in a very quiet and uncrowded neighborhood. It was only a short distance to the beach and I had the beach to myself every morning at sunrise for a 2 mile walk.

Owner's Response: Yes, A...don't you love the quiet morning walks on our beach?! The Spotted Grouper is only about 100 yds from the water (guests may walk down sandy Grouper Street or use the boardwalk behind our house to access the the beach). And we have a wonderful outdoor shower for rinsing sand before popping back into the kitchen for the morning cupper! Hope you can visit us again.

Perfect for my elderly mom!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely beach home with no stairs, a walk-in shower, comfortable beds, and a short easy walk to the beach. My mother, 92 her next birthday, fell in LOVE with this house! We had a great time this weekend!
