About Randy Gordon

I am a mountain enthusiast that grew up here. I still get super excited when I see the snow dumping and know a powder day is coming on! I love to see people enjoying this special region of the Rocky Mountain range. So much to explore and do!

Randy Gordon purchased this cabin in 1992

Why Randy Gordon chose Salt Lake City

I grew up enjoying our old family cabin that shares the property with my home. In 1992 I was fortunate to be able to build this beautiful home, with my late father. We designed this space specifically to provide a comfortable family nurturing atmosphere. I love the open feeling and the closeness this space provides for my family and love sharing it with others.

What makes this cabin unique

This is a unique setting that borders forest service property. There is lots of back country access and not very many other cabins around. You are free to use the snowshoes and sleds, provided at your request, to explore the back yard.

This place has everything!

  • 5 of 5

The skiing was fantastic!!! The cabin is pretty close to Brighton & Solitude and set back off the road so you really feel like it's your own mountain! With a hot tube and a pool table plus much more there is plenty to do when you are not skiing! The owners thought of everything from extra blankets and pillows to every cooking pot and utensils to boardgames to play pens for you baby etc...... The only things you need to bring is food and beer & wine and you will ready for anything!!!

P. S. We will return every year for sure!!!

Great Mountain House

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying at the Gordon house. My wife and I, 4 adult children and significant others for a total of 10. It was just right for that size crowd. Great place to come in from a day on the slopes, hit the hot tub, chill, cook dinner, shoot pool, enjoy the fire, and get a good nights sleep. Great views and scenery. Walking distance to Brighton (not in ski boots, or carrying equipment). Off the road far enough that you will need a 4 WD vehicle if it snows to unload groceries or equipment. With 10 of us, we rented one big 4WD vehicle that carried 3 people from the airport and picked up a weeks worth of groceries. The others used a transporation service to get to the house and back to the airport, rather than rent multiple vehicles. During the week, ferried 2 loads of folks to either Brighton or Solitude, or half walked to Brighton. Worked out great and we got 2 feet of snow during the week. Hope to come back!

Beautiful cabin, Gorgeous location

  • 4 of 5

Large rustic cabin, my family had a fantastic time. Some items are time worn, but overall a great place to stay. We will likely stay there again.

We love to ski at Brighton and staying near by is perfect. Big cabin with all the amenities.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is huge with great bones. Much love and care went into making this a homey place away from home.

Pros: local skiing, huge space, fireplace, hot tub. Nice beds, bedding & bathrooms. Private. Beautiful setting.

Cons: needs TLC, second floor entrance, pricy . Should switch hot tub to silver ion.
