About RC

I am a Dad with 3 children. I have been going up to the cabin since 1967, and my kids have been going up since they were newborns.

RC purchased this cabin in 1965

Why RC chose Minnesota

I purchase the cabin from my two aunts, my uncle and my father when they inherited it from my grandmother after her death. I have been going up there since 1967.

What makes this cabin unique

Very close to the lake. No highway noise. Very private location. Cabin rates high on character and charm. Cabin is a great place to escape from city life and read, talk, sleep, walk, hike, play games, etc.

Great Location! View is amazing.

  • 4 of 5

We had a great weekend at the cabin. Location. Location. Location. Nice flat ground level. Cabin is rustic but nice. Really does not have a bedroom. I'd call it a studio layout or open floor plan - no real walls to form a bedroom. The loft stairs are more like a ladder. We did not use the loft because of that reason and it was very warm up there. We had bon fires on the rocks at night - it was so amazIng. Thanks!

Cozy Memorial Day

  • 4 of 5

We had such a wonderful weekend! It was our one-year anniversary and the cabin was the perfect get-away. It rained for much of our stay, but we enjoyed hanging out by the big indoor fireplace, reading by the big windows, and hiking by Cascade Falls once the weather cleared. The owner was always quick to respond and very helpful. The outside of the cabin could use a little TLC, and the mattresses could stand to be updated, but other than that everything was perfect! Grand Marais was just a short drive away, where we got groceries, hung out at the brewery and coffee house, and did some shopping. Best of all, we LOVED the backyard access to Lake Superior and the private rock shoreline where we watched the waves and stargazed at night. We would DEFINITELY recommend staying here!

Most excellent cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in the cabin on the shore! Two thumbs up for sure. Everything you need here, nice and cozy even when 10 below zero! A beautiful place to view the power of the lake in winter. Kids loved the novelty of the record player ; )

Ideal Up North Get Away

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our North Shore get away. The cabin had rustic charm, was cozy, and ideal for my husband and I. We will certainly tell our grown children about this rental so that they can also have the opportunity to experience the peace, comfort and beauty this property provides on Lake Superior upon their next visit. We will plan on returning in the future :)

Relaxing Time in a Beautiful Setting

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we had a very nice stay at the cabin on Lake Superior. The location is secluded, making it great for a romantic getaway or some family bonding time. The cabin is right on Lake Superior and you can walk on the rocks right on the water. The cabin is well maintained and clean, but definitely on the rustic side because of the secluded location. It has all the amenities that you need except for cell phone service/wifi--great if you are looking to disconnect. The location is very close to Lutsen and all the activities in the area, and only a 15 minute drive to Grand Marais. It is a little hard to find, but worth it.
