Why Jan chose Wickford
It was "magic at 1st sight" and I decided that my parents should buy it for their retirement home. It was too special to let it slip away ...... Looking back, that was pretty know-it-all of me but, very fortunately, they were extremely happy there.

Peaceful and Quiet
We stayed in Wickford during the Memorial Day weekend, 2019.
The communication with the owner was fabulous and she always responded promptly. Since we were in town for the dog agility show, I wanted to confirm with her that dogs were okay. The yard was very nice and we made sure to clean up after them for the next folks.
As we were coming from a few states away, we arrived later in the evening. The owner was there to greet us and she showed us around. The house was quite nice. Old and quaint. While the kitchen appliances were new and in great working order, luckily the charm of this older house was able to shine through. The shower in the bathroom worked GREAT. Lots of pressure and plenty of hot water. The ice maker in the freezer was able to keep up with the demand. The living room was roomy and the TV worked well. The only negatives would be that the beds tended to creak as people rolled over during the night. Not too bad, but wanted folks to be aware. The dining table is small, not large family size. The neighborhood was peaceful. Hardly any sounds at night. Easy to drive to. Good parking. Easy walk downtown. As a bonus, there is a geocache nearby! :-) We had a very nice stay. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the review. It was great meeting you, And your very well-behaved dogs (super cute too – even the neighbors have commented!) I really appreciate your feedback, especially on details that I never would have noticed on my own. The creaking beds, in the reverse situation, would have driven me a bit nuts since I tend to flip during the night. I just went by and bounced around (LOL …), did some tweaking and think it’s all fixed. (Yes, there are funny moments … ) I will keep close tabs with incoming guests. I hope to see you again if there are future dog shows in the area.
Charming, cozy little spot
This adorable apartment met the needs of my family and added just the right amount of “get away” to put the cherry on top of a lovely weekend. Jan was so accommodating and kind to us all. We will definitely be back !!
I loved meeting you and your family. I especially enjoyed the history and book conversations. It would be great to see you all again. Thank you - Jan
Jan is lovely, responsive and accommodating. Thank you!
Great location. Comfortable environment.
Beautiful private home in historic Wickford. Very accommodating owner. Well kept property!!
Well maintained property on waterfront in historic Wakefield. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and small beach and marina. Small town feel with friendly atmosphere.
it is a lovely 200 year old property with all the charm that comes with that vintage.
Lovely time spent listening to the crickets through the open windows every night while enjoying a great sleep in a great bed. The unit has everything you could need and Jan is a fabulous hostess and is very helpful and intent on making sure your stay is grand. The unit we had was the Main floor of the original house and not the extension you see on the right in the picture.
Sister’s vacation- great stay!
My 2 sisters and I greatly enjoyed our stay in this quaint, 2 BR, historic home. Jan, the owner, was a terrific host who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The inside of the home was very comfortable and the outside grounds and views very peaceful and relaxing. In addition, the location was perfect. The house is a block from downtown, historic Wickford Village and a short drive to Providence and Newport. We highly recommmend this place to all.
Wickford Village is ideally located for a varied vacation, from relaxing on an ocean beach to visiting museums and historical sites. The harbor setting is perfect for all water-related activities, from bay excursions to evening dinner sails to kayaking --- there are boat and kayak rentals just a block away. Within an easy half-hour drive, you can experience the small city charm of Providence with its fine restaurants and distinguished universities or cross the Bay to tour the opulent mansions of Newport. Ferry service to Block Island and Martha's Vineyard are equally convenient.
