In the center of Opatija, on the second floor of a typical Austro-Hungarian villa, there is this spacious apartment with a view of the sea. It is placed near the beach and all the recreational facilities. Opatija was once a famous spa town and today it is a popular wellness and health tourism center for tourists from all over the world. Due to its mild and pleasant climate, a combination of the coast and mountainous hinterland, it is an ideal destination all year round. One of the sights that adorn it are houses and villas with interesting architecture from the Habsburg period, like the villa where this vacation apartment is located. One of them is also Villa Angiolini, where the Tourism Museum is located. In Opatija you can find many restaurants, pastry shops and cafes. In summer there are various concerts and many fun events. A special feature of Opatija is its parks and promenades, the most famous of which is Lungomare, a seaside promenade that stretches from Opatija through Ika to Lovran, giving the opportunity to explore these small coastal towns south of Opatija. Another interesting promenade is the forest promenade Carmen Sylve, which leads through the hinterland of Opatija. Here you will find a belvedere built on the rock of Queen Elizabeth, which locals also call Mala fortica viewpoint. From there you will enjoy a fantastic breathtaking view. From Opatija you can take a day trip to the islands or to the nearby Istrian peninsula.
