Dear Jacky and Tony,

We are still thinking about the peaceful time at Schroon lodge.

We enjoyed are stay so much, thanks again for your hospitality.

For your web-page we wrote a little article to place in the Dutch language.

(and that was much easier than English for us!!!)

remote and lovely

  • 5 of 5

VERY sweet hosts. Clean and well equipped property. Great for small kids. Row boats and kayaks and private lake access AWESOME! Only critique is the house feels a little dark with no windows in one whole side of the house. Also there's no way to eat outside after dark. Perhaps they could put a lamp on the deck? BUT overall fantastic - and super close the the lovely Schroon lake. Thanks Anthony and family!

A nice place to stay

  • 4 of 5

The lodge was VERY clean. The owners were very nice. I appreciated the great communication through email that we had prior to arrival. We enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and fishing. It rained a lot while we were there so we played a lot of card games too. It is a nice spot for a family vacation. Very quite. The lodge does not sit right on the water. You have to go down a steep hill to get to the beach. My first time down was a little rough, but my son found me a nice walking stick and I had no problem getting down there and back up .... I am an out of shape, almost 50-year old women. Also there is about a mile and a half unpaved, rocky road to get back into the lodge. We were in our mini van, so we were fine driving on it and any protruding rocks that might be hazardous are marked with either red or green paint. It was great to spend time with the family. My husband and boys enjoyed it more because of the fishing. I was able to get text messages and phone calls on my Verizion cell phone, but we were never able to get any internet access. If you want quiet and relaxing this is a great place. I imagine it would be beautiful in the fall!

Wonderful family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great family vacation at Loon Lodge. It was super clean and very well stocked. It was the perfect vacation to reconnect and just spend time together as a family. Mostly, we enjoyed just hanging out at the cabin and making campfires, swimming, fishing, and boating on Thurman Pond. We did venture out to hike a few trails thanks to the suggestions of Tony and all the brochures available for guests to browse. Thank you so much Tony and Jackie for sharing your cabin! Certainly hoping to return in 2015!

Phenomenal! Recommended without hesitation.

  • 5 of 5

My Wife and I had a great time at Loon Lodge. It's everything the description says plus so much more. A true piece of paradise! And the hosts were very welcoming. Lodge was very clean, Customer Service was perfect. Enjoyed hanging out on the pond, boating, hiking nearby and strolling through Schroon. If they have anything available, TAKE IT!

Beautiful, Private, Clean Stay

  • 5 of 5

I was so impressed with Loon Lodge! The pond was so much larger than I expected. The water was clean and close to our cabin. It was just a short walk through the trees to get to an amazing view of sunsets and loons on the waterfront. This is the place to have a retreat to reconnect with nature! Calm, peaceful, private, and beautiful are just a few words to describe our stay. The cabin was tucked into the forest and had everything we needed. Loon Lodge was such a great home base that it made our time in and out of the water so enjoyable. I already know that I want to come back next year to enjoy the sights and sounds of Loon Lodge and see what the loons are up to!!!!
