The Harbour Masters House is a listed Georgian building of historical importance. It has six bedrooms comfortably sleeping up to twelve people.
There is a double bedroom on the ground floor and the other bedrooms all which are en-suite are situated on the first and second floors.
1st floor - 1 twin room, 2 doubles
2nd floor - 1 double room, 1 family room with a double and 2 single beds.
The house is a two story over-basement, period property with a balcony and large garden. A spacious dining room and kitchenette lead to a large, walled garden, providing a safe place for children and pets to play.
The village has a traditional Irish pub & shop, a modern playground and hosts a number of annual events and festivities.
There are two pubs in the village, McIntyre's and the Canal Bar. McIntrye’s pub is a traditional Irish pub where many locals enjoy a pint or a few. During the summer months and some weekends in the winter there is live music in the pub. McIntyre’s pub has a very welcoming and warm atmosphere. Please enquiry with Grainne regarding food in the pub.
The Canal Bar opens annually for the Shannon Harbour boat rally which is held on the third weekend in June. Contact Grainne for any information required.
Recent renovations of the village area included increased car parking provisions, a children's playground, showering and laundry facilities and a community hall.
The Shannon Harbour area lies between Griffith Bridge, the Grand Canal and the Railway Bridge.
The village sits on the Grand Canal, close to where the Shannon and Brosna meet which is a great fishing destination for pike, hybrid and perch.

The central location of the house in the midlands of Ireland means that the Harbour Masters house is an ideal base for touring Ireland. Limerick, Galway and Dublin are only a little over an hour away. Athlone, Ballinasloe and Tullamore are only a half an hour away where one can find attractions such as Glendeer Petfarm, Athlone castle, Lough Rea in Athlone and Tullamore Distillery. Clonmacnoise monastery is a 15 minute drive away.
