Melania Quinn purchased this house in 2008
We just spent the week from Christmas to New Year's Day at the Armitage HdG and it was perfect for us. Our daughters (22 and 17) and our older daughter's fiance were with us, and we had such a relaxing time. The house was just right for our game marathons, and also for reading and watching movies together and separately.
The property was very clean and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable, and the sheets and pillows were great quality. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the house. Melania was very easy to work with and answered our questions promptly. The instructions for the week are also well-laid out and clear.
We took day trips to Baltimore, DC, and Philadelphia, all of which were quite accessible by car. On the other days we stayed in town and walked down to the shops a couple of streets away. The town is very pretty, and the main street has a lot of fun shops (especially Glyph!) and we found a few treasures. There are restaurants, stores, and a Target nearby.
The only downside to the house was not enough seating in the sitting/living room, but what is there is very comfortable. It didn't affect us a lot, though, because we spent most of the time we were there at the table eating or playing games.
I would highly recommend this property - it is a lovely home and was the perfect place for us to spend Christmas and New Year's.
We had a wonderful time staying in beautiful Havre De Grace at this charming home. Everything was spotless, we felt completely comfortable letting our toddlers play around on the ground. The beds were comfortable with full fluffy pillows and crisp white sheets. We would stay here again and recommend to anyone!
We were there with another couple and we all loved the house, the town of Havre de Grace is a great little town. We were all there for a wedding and the house and area worked very well as the Friday night event was in Havre de Grace. We would highly recommend the house. It was very well appointed. Thanks.
Overall the home was fantastic. It met our needs perfectly for my sons wedding at Steppingstone and was just a beautiful setting for the photographer of the Groomsmen's. The kitchen was fully stocked with all basic items you could need to cook, minus your groceries. The beds were super comfy and warm. We had several family members come over to visit and they all fell in love with the house and want to book a stay. However, during our stay the city was replacing pipes in the roads and parking was very challenging and there were loud construction noises starting early each morning and throughout the day. As for the house, If I had to be overly critical, I would mention that upstairs outlets in the bedrooms are very limited, so there are no lamps or clocks and the home could use some nightlights as it is very dark at night. I would also mention that seating in the living room is tight since there is only the loveseat and a chair. We also mentioned to ourselves that it would have been nice to have light blankets in the living room to snuggle under as it was pretty chilly in the mornings and evenings. But, all said, we would rent this again in a heartbeat.
My family spent five days at this house in Havre de Grace so that we could attend my son's wedding nearby. Everyone was comfortable and the house had everything we needed. I especially loved the sunroom each morning for my "quiet time" before we started our busy day. I love old homes because they have so much character and this home has been updated but still retains the feel of another time. My only complaint is that we didn't have more time to discover all the great shops and restaurants that were within walking distance. This is really a beautiful area and we hope to come back again soon.
