Country charm greets you at the door of this 1850 restored post & beam antique cape farmhouse. The main floor has an open floor plan with adjoining living room, dining room, breakfast bar and galley style kitchen.
This living area features gleaming hardwood floors, wood stove an abundance of natural light and mountain views.
On the first floor you will also find a full bath and den which can be used as a 4th bedroom. There is now a newly renovated, heated activity room in the store front which has a pool table, a ping pong table and lots of room for dancing, entertaining or just having a large get together. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and a full bath featuring beautiful antique wide board flooring.
The 3.5 acre property is mostly open fields sloping gently down to the surrounding 8 acre pond.
A sun cottage, picnic table and fire-pit sit near the pond for your enjoyment. This picturesque VT location has fantastic views of Prospect Mountain from sunrise to sunset that compliment this southern exposure property. There is also a swimming dock with row boat on the pond.
We really enjoyed the farm house! There was everything there we needed. Not far from grocery store! Had lots of great entertainment snow boarding, ping pong, pool table, skiing, board games etc we loved it! Hope to come again. House was very nice and clean! We got lots of snow while we was there.😊 That was also a plus with us being from GEORGIA. We don't see snow often.
The property was more rustic lake cabin than i thought, but that was ok. The old flooring and exposed beams were quaint and really increased the "old farmhouse" look and feel. The bathrooms and kitchen were modern and that was important to me. The game room was fully taken advantage of by our party. The pond at your back door was great, not too many fish but it was the fun was in trying and we were successful a few times. The fire pit was nice and the little summer house with outdoor furniture was neat. We took advantage of the rowboat and got out on the lake several times. There is some resident wildlife that my whole family enjoyed seeing every morning. It was very close to bennington and could easily travel out to sightsee, eat and shop. It was a delightful vacation. The only things I have to complain about was the noise from the road (which the owner warned me about in advance), no garbage service (I traveled 15 hours and could not take it back with me!) and not enough fans ( it was hot a few times at night and only had 1 fan). It was a nice place to stay and would recommend.
