Incredible view, clean well kept home, beautiful private setting, truly for myself and my family a home away from home.We really appreciate being able to talk with Jim be it by phone or e mail as if we are old friends very relaxed, trusting folks,we felt very confident after our first conversation that it would be as Jim explained. For us as a family snowmobiling has been a passion and truly the accomadations we enjoyed only made a great thing better, especially the privacy and freedom to sit in the hot tub at 8 in the morning enjoying a cup of coffee or after a days ride to soak away the aches. Also the manager Dan was awesome, the kind of fellow that you could call a friend after minutes visiting,we will return,we can't wait thank you very much.
The Lodge itself was amazing, the location is not far from Kicking Horse Mountain at all and it added a little more privacy and tranquility to our trip. The view from the place is outstanding and hard to beat at the end of a long ski day, when you are sitting in a hot tub and staring at the mountains
The Lodge itself is equipped with everything you would need for any trip. From a hot tub, all types of speakers, to storage space and kitchen gear. We were overly impressed with the location and the lodge, the storage space for the skis and the boot drying racks.
The lodge slept 9 people comfortably with the option of using a fold away cot for a 10th person.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be trying to make a reservation for our annual ski trip next year, as well as potentially for our summer getaways.
The Bear Paw Lodge is by far one of the best spots I have stayed. The lodge itself is out on a beautiful property and nestled in the mountains. You have that complete isolation feel, but still close enough to go into town for supplies or go to the ski hill for the day. Walking in the lodge for the first time was a "make yourself at home feel" comfortable bedding and a hot tub out on the back deck. Definitely would recommend this to anyone. Plus Dan the caretaker is a legend and he even let us sign his Harley before we departed!
Myself, my Wife, Daughter, her Husband, and our four grandkids stayed at this amazing home away from home. Our grandkids where able to utilize the backyard to injoy there little sleds. We had one of the most amazing views anyone could ever ask for each day and evening while hot tubing. The home was very well set up with 8 of us staying in this home no one ever felt crowded. All kinds of board games that we took the opportunity to use during our R&R time.with each room being equipped with satellite TV the children were able to unwind before bed while in bed, with there favorite TV show. We like this area so much we are looking at our annual January vacation to be at this location. This property comes with a host that is one of a kind. Dan was very knowledgeable about the property and the area. Dan gave us an overall understanding of the sledding throughout Blaeberry and cautioning us on areas of hazard. The one and only thing that disappointed us was we never booked it for a full week. This will change next year for sure.
Loved my stay 9 years ago and still loved it this time. Great way to spend my new years.
We - 4 adults and 2 little ones - really enjoyed our stay at this chalet. It was very well equipped, for ex we cooked quite a bit and there was everything we needed and if you are a TV fan you'll find a TV not only in the living room but in most of the bedrooms too! It was spotless clean, very cosy, well maintained, has a nice hot tub outside and a large backyard to play in - w a basketball net, a firepit and a horseshoe game! We also found that Jim the owner was very responsive and kind over emails. Finally, we read before booking in another review that the housekeeper was living in the basement and this was not a problem at all for us. He is in fact very nice and relaxed! So all in all we'ld go back and highly recommend.
3rd year in a row we have been for Thanksgiving and don't see us stopping the tradition anytime soon. The house is still incredibly well maintained and the grounds impeccably well looked after. Dan, the housekeeper, is super friendly and helpful when it comes to anything about the house or the area. Love how well stocked with kitchen appliances and cooking wear the house is. You have everything you could possible want with this house. Just wonderful!
