Pollokshields was Glasgow’s first garden suburb and still retains that old Victorian charm relating back to its history when it served the rich Victorian merchants who established the City of Glasgow. It is sometimes hard to believe, as you stroll along the tree lined avenues , that you are only 5 mins from the bustling City Centre. The Train Station is a 2 minute walk away and a short hop will take you straight into the centre of Glasgow. Local buses are also nearby. The exclusive, up-market Sherbrooke Castle Hotel is closeby and the Bar and Restaurant are open to non-residents. Not only this, but you will be ideally and centrally situated to enable you to visit Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, Ayrshire (Rabbie Burns/Auld Lang Syne Country), all of which are only a short 40 minute drive away. Here you will also find the Sport Centre and Swimming Pool with Flume, the Ski and Snowboarding Centre (dry slopes) and The Palace of Art (centre for sporting excellence).

Local Shops and a selection of Restaurants/Bistros are 1 Mile away and there is a small convenience store just 2 minutes walk away.

About Michele George

I trained as Teacher of Physical Education graduating in 1982. I taught for 4 years in London. Wanting to return to my homeland of Scotland it did not happen and I then went on to work abroad as Holiday Representative for Thomson Hoilidays. It was a great experience and took me all over the world. However, after six years abroad, I decided to try to put my roots down in Scotland. I retrained as a Primary Teacher and taught for four more years. I met mey husband and had ten years of being a Full-Time Mother to my two girls. Based on my six years experience in the frontline of the tourist industry, I decided to start 'Glasgow Self Catering Apartments' with just one apartment. I now operate four apartments on the lovely south side of Glasgow and take great pride in welcoming my guests to a 'Home from Home' experience in two of the best locations in Glasgow. I want my guests to experience the best of Glasgow and to leave with great memories of their visit. Since I started in 2007 so many of my guests have returned and many would not stay anywhere else. So I feel confident that guests are happy with what I present....and that truly makes me happy too!

Buse also nearby take about 15 minutes. Motorway access is only 2 minutes away and you can hop on to the M8, M77 or M74 to be able to head off to explore in any direction. Sherbrooke has a unique, safe and special atmosphere. You even have your own castle 2 a minute walk away with a visit to The Sherbrooke Castle Hotel. If you like walking you can walk to Bellahouston Park with its Ski Centre and House for an Art Lover, Maxwell Park, Pollok Country Park which is home to the famous 'Burrrell Collection Museum & Pollok House'. Beautiful architecture is abundant astride Victorian tree-lined avenues.

The apartments are set back from a quiet road and are surrounded by trees and shrubs creating a spacious and garden environment. Even though the apartments are on the Ground Floor of a small 3-storey block, you get really great views over the city and the Living Room windows face nort to see the Campsie Fells and The Trossachs. It is hard to think of a better location to stay for making the best of Glasgow and also its fantastic surroundings. Edinburgh is 45minutes away, as is Loch Lomond and Striling Castle so it is easy to visit these places of interest for the day and return home to your apartment in Glasgow as your base - the friendly city!....and so much more!

SAFETY Sherbrooke is in a very good, much sought-after, prestigious residential area of Glasgow ie Pollokshields (West), where you will feel comfortable and unthreatened. This location is quiet, residential, leafy and pleasant. SHOPS Sherbrooke only has one small General Store within 2 minutes walk. Other local shops are 1 Mile (2kms) away. So, unless you have your own transport, you would have to pick up your shopping elsewhere during the day. 24-Hour Asda/Tesco Supermarkets 5minutes by Car and Waitrose Supermarket 10minutes by Car Silverburn (Glasgow’s newest and best Shopping Centre) and Braehead Shopping Centre are just over 5 minutes by Car.
