We have stayed at Orange Lake resort in the past, and this holiday week was all we expected. The 2 bedroom accommodation was luxurious, clean and well maintained. The master bedroom was massive, complete with en suite bathroom. The second bedroom with 2 double beds had a bathroom next door. Toiletries were provided, a lovely touch, thank you! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to eat in during our stay, and although the toaster broke in the middle of the week it was replaced within an hour by a cheerful staff member.
Unfortunately the screened lanai at the rear of the property faced the very busy 192 road, so was noisy from traffic, but that was more than made up for with the swimming pool just across the road in front of us. Towels are provided in all swimming areas, you just drop them off in the towel bins before leaving the pool area. Orange Lake resort is huge. One of the areas we really enjoyed was River Island. Some revues have complained about the cost of tubes for the lazy river, but we were only there in the evening. All tubes had already been cleared away for the night, and we had the joy of a quite time, with few other people, floating on our backs around the river, looking up at the glorious night sky. We loved it!
The resort is also perfectly located for for access to all that the area had to offer. Just outside the resort entrance is a supermarket for all grocery and shopping needs. Along the 192 are Ponderosa and Golden Coral, our two favourite all you can eat buffet restaurants. We did find one Golden Coral was not up to to the usual high standards, so we didn't go there again. There's another one further along the road. We also liked Chili's for their fajitas and quesadillas. Up the i4 took us to Discovery Cove and Sea World. We travelled west to Crystal River where we had the most amazing day swimming with Manettees, definitely the highlight of our holiday. And not to be missed is an evening in Old Town Kissimmee where classic cars amazingly and lovely restored are on parade.
We had an amazing week, thank you!!!
